New repaint you mean... For a second I though they were making the Shin Getter 3 or the Getter Robot G.

You know I'm kinda glad I sold all my Aoshima figures except my Overseas BlackWing Mazinkaiser ( I do miss my Anime colour Daishogun though), I have never seen a company release so many figures from just 7-8 actual figures.

Hasbro? This fig looks kind of bad though. The grey isn't that nice and I don't like the mould for the figure anyway. I don't know how they managed to do so much worse than the Revoltech. It's too squadgy and Pat Lee looking.

I can't even see the differences with the re-paint. Aoshima is digging a grave for themselves. I have now completely lost interest with their new products. Why support their 1st issue stuff when you know a better paint scheme is on the way (and usually for less price, too).

When Aoshima released the first batch of this Shin Getter Robo 1, I was actually interested in purchasing one of the three color versions that they put out. Now I don't even know how many color variations they've released of this since. (I think there's even a Toys "R" Us version.) Anyway, I skipped this Aoshima Shin Getter when Kaiyodo released their first batch of Revoltech figures which included the Shin Getter. I know, it's cheap and it's plastic, but it actually resembles the Shin Getter that I saw on the OVA.

It's too squadgy and Pat Lee looking. At least with Hasbro they might change the head or something and say it's a different character, all Aoshima does is re-paint the same figure/character and call it the "weathering" version or "training" version or whatever of the SAME character. That would be like Hasbro releasing 10 versions of Prime in the same toyline with just different paint schemes.

Hasbro don't change the head anymore, at least not very often. They've become very cheap. And I think just calling it a different character is a bit silly... I mean would it be any better if they called that THE DARK GETTER or something? I wish they'd just make an SoC Shin and New Getter

Aoshima has run out of ideas (or character licenses). These endless re-issues: weathered, black, pearl, checkered, polka-dot, etc., is getting old. The Getter 3, if ever released, will be a welcomed change.

...and don't forget that Aoshima tries to hook you into buying every set they release by including a tiny plastic figure from one of the characters in the anime.

They should make problem Getter Robo figures.

The strange thing is they never chose to release a Shin Getter 2 with normal colors, while they're still making dozens of useless recolors! The normal version of Shin 2 is lightly weathered, the Kawai version is pearl white, the A.E. version is weathered. There's NO version with colors to match the first Shin Getter 1.

Hey---didn't someone here confirm that there'll be a ShinGetter 3 in 2009? That's all I really care about. I'm totally fine with these repaints as long as they don't drop the ball on that one.

You know I really don't want to pay $380 for a Shin getter set. I'd rather there be an SoC one for a third of the price like they've done with GX-06. I don't like Getter 3 enough to buy it outside of a set but I'd still want it to complete it. Plus I don't like Aoshima's style, it's too roundy. The Getter 2 is nice, but not great.
