Yup really excited about this one, hope they do a really good job on him. The MP moulds since MP-01 have been great but not quite up to the high standard set by Convoy. Either way I'll be snapping one up so long as its not a total disappointment.

Yeah, I'm hoping that's it comes out a lot sturdier than Megs did because there's much less Anime magic involved. I just hope they don't over complicate the Transformation and try and keep it more show accurate than the Seekers turned out. Can't wait to see Dino mode though!

Pixs of MP-Grimlock out (finally!) yay! (Pix courtesy of Cheem The Rup of TFW2005) Check out the full thread here: www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/193032-masterpiece-grimlock-first-pic-5.htmlAlso here's the full translated text by Sydneyy of TFW2005: Grimlock; "Ultimate Valour" To be true to his character setting, "a Transformer created by a Transformer", rivets are applied all over his body. He has "Waiter Mode" included and he comes with "brainwave transport" device. He can strike dinosaur-like poses as desired. His right fist contains LED light to light up his gun and sword. Both Dino and robot mode can change eye colours. Diecast is partly used.

I have a feeling it won't be bigger than Prime or the diecast content will be pretty low, I guess when they designed Prime they broke the mold.
On another point I read somewhere that a poster was asking why Takara is making a Grimlock figure in the first place since you can't have any re-colours. I think maybe it could be "prototype" for the other Dinobots since pretty much Slag and Sludge (legs form the ass end and the upperhalf becomes "wings") have the same Transformations with Snarl being very close.

Witha SRP of $130, it will either be bigger than MP Prime/Megatron OR have more die-cast content. Also, Megatron was unique mold that couldn't really be repainted. The Grimlock mold won't be repainted or retooled, guaranteed.

I totally agree with you megatroptimus. This Grimmy fig will have to be bigger. I mean...thus far they have pretty much kept the figures in scale with each other. I'm not saying that Grimmy is going to be HUGE like he should be in order to keep an accurate scale...but I am saying that he will be bigger than OP. He's gotta be.

Is Grimlock taller when he's in Robot mode or Dino mode?

Hey I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if it came out smaller than expected, just look at the seekers. Plus it's only 3000 Yen more than the upcoming Thundercracker which is only $25-30 bucks and how big and how much diecast is in that, also they only made Megatron because of the huge demand for him and three years after MP-01. Other than that the MP line and Takara in general has been about re-paints. Plus I never said Grimlock was going to be re-tooled or re-coloured but the lessons Takara learned from him could be put to the other Dinobots.
