Hi all. I just started to collect SOC's but i was kinda inclined to collect Robots shown here in the Philippines. Also i really like my collection to be of same heights. My question is, aside from voltes , combattler and daimos, are there any others with 9inches of height, specifically Mazinger Z and UFO Grendizer (it would be best to have it in their original colors...not the blacks or golds)? Whats their code (GX-XX?) Thanks for any help you could extend.

What do you mean? Are you asking if there are Mazinger and Grendizer in the 8-9inche height range in the SOC line or if there are Mazinger and Grendizer figures that tall in any line?
Oh and welcome to the board!

Mazinger is GX-01 and there have been remakes for him like GX-01R and the limited GX-01R+ Tamashii nation. Grendizer is the GX-04, and both are about 18 CM tall i believe, and they are a bit shorter than the robots you mentioned.. hope this helps

I meant in the SOC line... Mazinger 1969 is roughly the same height but it looks very different from its original so i opted to stick with SOC line.

Thank you for welcoming me Chen... Deadman, really appreciate the reply. I have seen the gx-01, looks great but just too small for my taste... i already got voltes and daimos so an 18cm mazinger kinda looks out of place... guess i have OC tendencies hehehe, thanks again

Even thou Bandai tries to stay within the anime scale on their SOC line, it is almost impossible to do with all the robots released. I suggest sticking the SOC and Aoshima line hands down!!!

Its tough to get robots of the same height in your collection, while keep the style and finish look very close. Not a good way to go, unless you just want to keep your collection as the Combattler Votes Daimos trio and not much else.
Same scale is pretty tough, same height even harder...

i think you shouldn't too worry about SOC robots height for me, its beautiful to have a variation of height, some robot will have a nice comparison height scale based on their anime. for example, voltes, combattler and daimos are in good height comparison getter 123, and getter G, also in good height scale.

well if you are going to toys that are same sized, you are missing alot of cool toys. Mazinger, Grendizer, Tetsujin 28, Great mazinger, Getter Robos, ...etc! buy what u want now before regretting when they disappear!

Hi all. I just started to collect SOC's but i was kinda inclined to collect Robots shown here in the Philippines. What a great time for you to start this hobby. Just get the pocket book out or the good ol' plastic. Off the bat, you can grab Mazinger Z, Voltes V, Daimos, Grendizer, Voltron, Getter, and even Danguard Ace. That should hold the fort for a while ;D From there, stay back unless you're ready for some more hurtin'

Zman - I guess its just limited to what you mentioned plus Balatak, Mekanda (heard it is rare) and Jigg(?)... i have no clue who the other robots are. I guess when they snatched the voltes (Star Rangers - remember them?)era, i got stuck. Now that they're back, i could have "closure" so to speak...

Ahhh.....closure......I hope you could stick to your plan and not get addicted to crackgokin ;D Balatak & Mekanda haven't had any modern diecast recreation yet AFAIK. The vintage versions are hard to find and $$$. Jeeg is sort of the same story. The majority of the Jeegs you see nowadays is of the "New Jeeg" from a newer anime. Takara issued the old Jeeg sometime way back but was plastic (with magnets). This should be easier to find. From CDX:

Hi Bmzdmd, welcome aboard. Hopefully this should help clear things up regarding the scale Just click on the images to view the larger pics. The tallest SOC would have to be Ideon, around 11 Inches tall. The Robot in the background with only the legs shown is Daitarn 3 Scale[/b] Gold

hi there bmzdmd, I strongly suggest the Aoshima getters! Very heavy and almost the same size. All SOCs are great, and the only one that I regret not buying is the Dancougar.

Daimos is Already shorter than Voltes-V, it wont hurt getting a lil bit shorter figures than Daimos just as Daimos Shorter than Voltes. ! i would Recommend Fewture Getters, but that costs a fortune!

Hi stonesunshine, will look into the getters, re dancougar, its unfortunate that i have no idea who he is... hence the lack of drive to get one (i saw one for sale in one of the malls here) deadman, i did get daimos... his scale was just right (give or take a few millimeters)... he's posed beside Voltes hehehe... still saving up on Mazinger 1969 tho'... a store here is giving it at P15,000.00 or 115 BHD... too expensive for my taste but still worth aiming for
