Hi, gang, thought I'd share a few images of the HL Pro MetalTech 02 Grendizer Giru Giru ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/th_Gren_Giru5.jpg) I opted for the limited Manga Color version (indicated at the back of the box) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/th_Gren_Giru3.jpg) Inner box ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru6.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru7.jpg) Serial number ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru9.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru8.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru11.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru12.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru13.jpg) Funny, even though this one is called the Manga color version, it's actually closer to the Anime look compared to the standard version with blue highlights. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru4.jpg) Might be a good idea to watch out for these spikes, even though they are plastic, they are still pointy, same goes for the claws. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru14.jpg) Opening mouth ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru15.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru16.jpg) The diecast parts are located in the top and lower halves of the Saucer only. The main torso does not have any diecast and is hollow plastic. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru18.jpg) (Diecast) Halves combine to form the Saucer mode ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru19.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru20.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru21.jpg) Tripod legs included (for trapping Koji's TFO) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru22.jpg) With the Metal Tech Grendizer ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru23.jpg) This set comes with the Space Thunder effects parts for Grendizer. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru24.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru25.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru26.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru27.jpg) Comparisons ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru31.jpg) The Giru Giru weighs around 264 Grams, while the MetalTech Grendizer is around 209 Grams. SOC Grendizer is 327 Grams. The Giru Giru works decent enough with the Soul of Chogokin Grendizer. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru32.jpg) Unfortunately, the Space Thunder parts cannot fit onto the SOC Grendizer's head. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru33.jpg) Overall, I like it, we rarely get any villains for Super Robots and honestly, next to the Gin Gin, this is one of the more popular Grendizer enemies due to the distinction of it being the first to fight Grendizer in the cartoon. If you plan to get one, I strongly recommend getting the limited to 300 pieces "Manga" version, as it really looks like how it does in the cartoon as compared to the standard version. I just wish the price were lower. It's a little bit on the pricey side for either version. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Goldgaigar/SOC/SOC_Final/Grendizer/Gren_Giru17.jpg) Gold

Great review as always Gold! ;D I was able to get no.178 of 300. Did not notice the Manga Color limited edition sticker at the rear of my box....
Do you have the chrome Grendizer? That is great too!

Thanks 70srfan. ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png) Yeah, I'm waiting for Greattoys to get their Chrome Grendizer and the Spacer. Hope it comes in soon, they totally didn't bring in the Giru Giru so I decided to bite the bullet and get one from Ebay. Then again, maybe it wasn't such a bad thing, since at least I got the Manga version, I most likely would've wound up with the regular version if GT had brought it in. I really hate those blue highlights on the regular version. ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png) Gold

Great review! It's a solid piece and a great addition I also just grabbed a chrome Grendizer off Ebay, $49 plus $8s/h is pretty good.

Thanks Chen, it really is a good catch. Better than the MT01 Grendizer IMHO. I'm still a little upset about how easily the connectors for the MT01 Grendizer Double Harken broke on my unit and contacting the company for replacement parts didn't get a response.... sigh.. ![:-/](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/undecided.png) Gold

Yeah they broke on mine too, I just glued them back together. But I'm thinking once I get the chrome version I might just drill out the hole in the hands a tad bigger so it's not so tight.

I also got no response and I only owned the thing for like 2 days before it broke. Lame.

Hi all,
Gold- was lucky and got my Giru Giru from HL PRO's eBay store. Price with shipping was almost the same as on their website.
Guys, gettershadow maybe able to talk to HL PRO for help on the broken Double Harkens. I shall modify my Grendy's hands to avoid damage.
Before I forget, I got my chrome Grendizer for Paul of PBM USA. SRP prices - cheaper than eBay.
Cheers,

Yeah. I guess it's a common problem with Grendizer. The peg for the harken is too skinny and breaks when you try to disassemble it. I suppose the only real fix is to use something small like a dentist's drill and try to put a metal pin where the peg was.

Gold, there is a modelling tool called a pin vice. It will allow you to do that

Thats wierd, the pin in my Harkken is still going strong. I did drill my fists out though.. the doubled the paint thickness on Chrome and it puts too much friction on the Harkken shafts. Yeah if mine ever breaks Ill try to hollow out those shafts and just use a metal sewing needle cut to the proper leangth. "Pin vice" Ill have to look for one of those, are they expensive?

Hi all,
Gettershadow, please tell HL PRO to make the Double Harken on their future Grendizer to be study please.... ;D I have a Tamiya pin vise set from the local hobby shop, but need a bigger drill bit. The Harkens are still a snug fit on mine. Still no pre-orders yet on PBM USA for Gin Gin...... Cheers,

My problem was getting the two halfs to go together! The hole just didnt fit the plug on the staff.I had to mess with it by sticking a needle inside and rotating it until the plug fit.I just left it in his hands,as I dont change poses much once they are in my cases.

Cheers, 70's Super Robot Fan HLPro visits this thread, they know everything that is said.. the V2 Grendy is going to be fantastic.. dont worry, all issues will be considered. HLpro is not ready to share any info on V2, all I know is that the sculpt will be similar to MT01 but better, different elbows are a given. Other than that, I know nothing. I would think that the new head will be standard for V2 or something very similar, it could be a all new figure but maybe not. I would think that it will all depend on the development phase of the V2 project. But this is all conjecture.. for now, I am worrying about Gin Gin.. I cant wait for that one.

Any place to pre-order the Gin-Gin? Is HL Pro going to sell it on their web site, like they did with the SP Giru-Giru?

If HLPRO reads this, please yes, better elbows and a wider hip articulation would be great (for kneeling poses!). I'd love to have a shoulder articulation too, like on the SRC Mazingers since it seems that Bandai will not have it on their SRC Grendizer so it would be a plus for the Metaltech in my book. and I wonder if the V2 Grendizer would still be compatible with the first MT's Spazer?

You guys are rough on your figures! ;D. I've had my Grendizer since it was initially released and never broken anything. Anyway, has any of you destroyers try to contact HL Pro for replacement parts yet? ![;)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/wink.png) They may hook you guys up! ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png) }D

I think the deal with some people breaking the HLpro products is constant reposing etc.Since they are cheaper toys and meant to be played with, and not really a do not touch collectors item, and easily accessible to play with, this is the result.I generally just put my figures in one or two positions maybe take a photo, and then in the shelf it goes to shine its presence amongst its brethren and act as eye candy to their master "me"..This is my commonplace action,so my Grendy naturally will have no issues. But then gain TMZ you always repose your stuff hence your many photos, and yours hasnt broken,so maybe it is being rough.Im not sure, how many of you guys really "play" or constantly repose your HLpros,or any of your toys for that matter,Id love to hear.
