I'm thinking of getting my hands on a CMS Goshogun, but have never bought anyting from CMS. Has anyone got this one and is it worth $110?

It's pretty sweet, yes. If you like your bots blocky, diecast, and solid, then it'll certainly be worth it, I should imagine. Some things that may disappoint for the pricetag if you aren't prepared for them:
- It's small; about the size of the small SOCs (that are about half the price) like Mazinger Z or Jeeg - It's not all that poseable in the legs. You can get some variations of aggresive standing poses, but you wont have him getting down on one knee or anything - The paint on the chrome weapons can be iffy. The red paint on my GoShogun's axes came off and stuck to his hands with just a short time of being left there; it wiped off the hands but now there's a bare spot on the chrome handle. Just something to be aware of. - It doesn't do your laundry. Sorry, I was kinda reaching there, there's really nothing else bad to say about the figure other than he's small for the price. It's an excellently constructed figure with a fantastic level of finish and heft. I like him, certainly.

Thanks for the info! Pity about the laundry bit, that would have conviced the wife. ;D Not that I needed much convincing, but I guess ther goes another $110. And I thought I was done shopping this year. I'll just tell the wife to forward the complains directly to you....... ;D ;D

Goshogun is my "the Best Toy of the Year" in 2007 ( a time when this guy firts came out). it worth every pennies, but if you're looking for the cheaper one, consider GNU-Dou Goshogun by Yamato. It has beautiful looks at more affordable price.

The Yamato Goshogun looks sweet but compared to the diecast one, I think there's no comparison. Obviously I'm speaking here after seeing only pics, as I haven't actually seen the figures themselves. So if I'm wrong someone please correct me.

Hey Skizz. Much like yourself, I had a hard time throwing down $110 on this, but after taking the plunge, I have no regrets whatsoever. This toy is truly what modern robot collecting is all about. Lots of diecast, a nostalgic character with a great design, tremendous modern craftsmanship, variety of weapons, and decent poseability. This definitely stands toe-to-toe with any SOC of the same scale. Henshin75 calling it 2007 toy of the year is not an overstatement. It is that damn good, whether you know the character or not.

If you like Goshogun, it's worth checking out CM's Sankan-Oh. It's in the same league of retro cool and very high quality. See the threads in the Brave forum section.

I like Goshogun .This toy is cool. For me the design is better than the vintage toys. But The vintage still vintage and more powerful. ;D

Great shot, nongoh!! Is that the largest vintage one? I always thought it was larger. Either that or the CM one seems throws off the scale because its larger than the standard sized vintage figures.

Yes, If you see the second pic. The DX is tallest. For the first Pic(Cms,ST,Middle size and PlasticGoshogun), yes CMS is higher rhan ST size but smaller than the middle size(Combat Action ) .

I know what you mean, Roy. Indonesians grow with Voltes, Goshogun and Godsigma!
The Chibi one is particularly nice. Is it a Banpresto mini gokin?

I finally own this piece!! After, searching for an affordable price for this for at least 2+ years, I won it from an eBay auction for $125.00 the other week. I remember watching Macron-1 in the 80's as a child, and this figure definitely brings back those memories. I can honestly say this was worth my wait. This is definitely one of my most treasured gokins in my collection. Here's a couple pics from my photo shoot today.
