I don't know if this survey is reliable. I recall seeing many collections posted here that are all still MIB, and they were not always due to display space limitations. Also, I see many members buying multiple copies of these toys, so at least 1 set will be kept MIB. For whatever reasons (perhaps these people are not participating), these situations don't seem to be reflected in the survey results to date.

Always out of box and displayed, I mean really, what good is a boxed figure? Especially sense most of mine are transformers.

I keep almost everything opened, and I rarely keep the boxes anymore. I tried to back in the day, but I ran out of space. It way a sad time when I recycled some 25+ Revoltech boxes in one day. I can only imagine what the people at the recycling facility must have thought. These days, the only boxes I keep are for really important pieces, like MP-04 Convoy. The only figure I've ever kept sealed is X-9 Ravage from the Japanese Beast Wars line. I've had him since a little after he came out, but I somehow never had the heart to open him. I've never understood why.

Thats what i thought a lot of peole did. I had even thought of doing it myself at one point, however the price of these toys and family obligations do not allow me too. Would be easy if i liked collecting american toys........which i dont.

LOL, I agree with most toys averaging about $150-$200 each, and with our fears with the economy who can sleep at night buying 2 or 3 of each toy nowadays?
