So, I don't understand. Do you want GX-45 to be two feet tall, Energer Z to be 3 inches tall, or do you want the bike to be so microscopic that it breaks/blows away in a light breeze when you try to put it in his head? The figures could have stayed the same size, but the bike/rider getup should've been more to scale. I don't buy the excuse that it would be too tiny - not after Raideen's motorcycle was made. So, I'm throwing the bull$hit flag up on that. It was just laziness on Bandai's part. But no worries, I'll make my own to scale bike... }D

Yeah, I know... Money talks. That's why nobody should be surprised (or upset) that Bandai put out the GX-45 Shin Mazinger first and now the GX-49 Shin Mazinger + God Scrander is coming out, or that they have to pay an additional $100 for a Extra Parts Set for the SOC Big-O (sold separately). I'm pretty sure they will do the same with a regular color Energer Z. But regardless, they could have done better with this bike...

No offense but Bandai had all the time in the world to design this toy, they developed the show and had full knowledge of all the designs. Plus this series was probably started a couple years ago, it takes time to develop and create a 26 episode series. I really don't see what the problem is, in the show itself they have a Hover Pilder that looks like it can hold 3-4 people then in the next episode it's a snug fit for one, plus didn't they also show scenes with Kenzo standing on top of Energer Z's head and looking massive. If you want accurate inscale robots and details, then Super Robots is the wrong place. You should be into Gundam and Macross where they have actual scale and size reference. Plus seriously, it's a little plastic bike there's no reason to have a heart attack about it.

I agree that the pilot figure is way to big, but at same time its in scale to what we have seen in the show . However I do agree that they should have done a better job.

Plus seriously, it's a little plastic bike there's no reason to have a heart attack about it. Yeah... there are millions of people that are happy with anything they get. I guess I'm in the tiny, tiny minority that expects things done to the best of one's ability and with pride, regardless of the task at hand. If I was the person making the prototypes, I assure you, these adult collectible figures would be very close to perfect in every way, shape, or form. Sigh...! I guess that's the reason why I don't have many figures that I have not modified myself in order to make them better... ;D }D

Okay first off please don't ever talk down to me, I'm not a 5 year old nor do I need to be condescended too. Second my point is that if you want accurate in-scale representations of figures Super robots are not the best example. Scale is a afterthought unlike Gundam or Macross where actual hard stats and scale is a priority. Third the scale of both Mazinger and Energer Z in the show vary greatly from episode to episode, so what do you want? A anime accurate representation of the figure or a realistic representation in which case the bike would literally be 4mm tall. And yes I expect high quality work and design in all my toys but I also understand this is a tiny plastic figure from a robot that appeared maybe 3-4 times in a series that is quite forgettable.

Again, some people are fine with anything... but not me. Accurate scale representations can be found everywhere, from Super Robots to GI Joes, so YES, I do expect a scale to be kept (even if not absolutely exact - it should be closer than this). You keep going on and on about the anime, and that is not what I'm discussing to here. I'm discussing the scale of the SOC Hover Pilder and Energer's bike/pilot figures - real things, not cartoons. But if the anime is what you want to discuss, I absolutely assure you that in the anime they never showed a 4 meter Tetsuya/Kenzo. Oh, and please, there is nothing in this world that will make me change the way I think - and I will ALWAYS stand by what I believe and will NEVER put up with mediocre stuff. Unfortunately, for this particular fan and buyer, that is what they did with the Energer - and the only way around it is to fix it myself... once again. Hey, I am not trying to force anyone to agree or disagree with me, I am just showing the obvious and expressing my disappointment with Bandai's choice to make the bike the size they did. But I digress... At least my Energer will eventually have a "to scale" control bike. Is funny, because I am positive that given the choice of getting the bike in this scale or getting the bike in scale with the Hover Pilder, many of the buyers (that only plan to display the figure - not play with it) would opt to purchase the one to scale. Too tiny you say??? Well, a well placed magnet on Energer's head and a tiny metal bike go very well together... ;D }D

I have no problem with your opinions your totally entitled to your opinions, my only problem is when you make statements such as "yeah... there are millions of people that are happy with anything they get. " since you don't know what my standards are and if I'm happy with what I get or not.

True, and I mean nothing by it, but is it not true? In this particular case that we are discussing here with the SOC Energer, aren't hundreds of buyers totally happy with what they got, not making any fuss about it? That is what I meant. Regardless of anything else, it is obvious that when placed side by side these two things do not look right, and that's my only point. It could have been done better, but it wasn't.
Dead issue... but I hope they correct it when the regular color Energer is released (but of course Bandai will not...).

Today, I got a call from my friendly vendor at Frank & Son and he said he has some stuff for me fresh from Japan Don't believe me? Check the Jp box stickers for yourself ;D Anyway, it turned out to be the GX-45 with the SoC white gloves(!) & the GX-47. All this for only $135 out the door. The only bummer is that I forgot to go back to that one booth where he had MP-08 Grimlock for $140 I got too excited after getting the SoCs along with a Michael Jordan and a Kobe Bryant figure.

Did anybody notice that Bandai only mirrored the pose of GX-45 & the GX-47? Is that the best Bandai can come up with? :-)

On the other hand, it looks pretty sharp when you display the two boxes next to each other.

There are soooo much other stuff out there worthy of my support and hard earned dollar. Besides I think I've had more than my fill of Mazinger figures that a figure would have to be super excellent surpassing GX-01R & GX-07's quality and style to get me to buy another
