Makes me really wonder how is CM's financial situation. From what I see, their recent gokins didn't sell well with significant price drop. The ones that got rave reviews are Goshogun & the Patlabors, which were released a while back. The rest are either mediocre, or didn't have much interest. Even their latest greatest Gakeen, while nicely made, has major price drop. So how in the world did they get all the funds to develop so many gokins, and almost all at the same time?! This is pretty amazing on its own.
I like some of what I see here, but not all I like. Gordian particularly seems to look too anime accurate. Like they follow everything down to the T, but based on a bad drawing LOL. Wish they tweak the proportion somewhat. Not major makeover or modernized. Just some adjustment to make the design look better. Gaikings & Neo Getters look quite good. Aestivalis look good, except the big chest. Baratak looks fun. But with all the parts and different modes, I bet that set will cost more than Gakeen.
Didn't get to see all the pics, since my internet is acting up today. But CM's lineup does pack a punch, regardless not being perfect on some. Good news indeed.

I think cms R & D department is very weak, cause they doing 80's toys and they copy exactly the same thing do it right now. Have some development pls, like fewture changing getter style.

I see CM's like Aoshima's in that they are Anime accurate while SOC's are more technically/modern in that they will change some parts of the design to make it look better and get better proportions. Still it's always been CM's price tags that have kept me from buying them, but for good or bad CM's seem to drop in price the most out of all the high-end diecast figures.

... and yet someone will probably buy it. Not me, but someone.
... Unless this goes the way of Dancouga Nova. Still, if you look at the photos, Gordion is REALLY big. Considering the CM's price for smaller items, this pricetag doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

I hate to say it but if you really want this or any CM's figure it's best to wait for the inevitable price drop. I've never seen any high-end figure line drop in price as fast as CM's, which really isn't a good thing.

Well, could be prices are overinflated to start with, obviously not a lot are sold and then the price drops.

... Which is really bad for the retailers selling it, as they're buying it from their distributors or from CM's at a certain % (usually between 40-47%) off of the original MSRP. If they're having to drop it to 35, 40, or even 50-70% just to get them out of inventory and off the books, they're taking a loss on selling them. If a retailer does that too often, you can bet that they'll think carefully about whether they want to even bother with future CM's products.

I have absolutely no qualms about buying things at full retail price if it's something I really like. Yeah, I could have waited a few months for the CMs Calber and gotten it for half the price, but I can't look at this hobby just in terms of how it affects MY wallet. I WANT these companies to keep making stuff, I want them to prosper and make a profit. If nobody bought these toys upon release and just waited for a price drop, these companies would lose their incentive to make the toys at all. We need to scratch their backs if we want them to keep scratching ours. I'm not saying we should always sit back and just be happy with the prices of everything, but unless we know how much those licenses cost, how much production costs are, how much marketing and everything else costs, it doesn't seem fair for us to declare prices to be inflated or unreasonable.
That said, I LOVE a good sale. I take advantage of slashed prices all the time, but it's almost always on items that I wasn't entirely interested in to begin with.
Also, in regards to the Gordian on BBTS, isn't BBTS actually inflating the price of that toy? I thought is was closer to $200 on other online stores? Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

well bbts isnt known for inflating prices (though image anime does all the time!!) and generally they are the cheapest around (doemestically) when they finally get thier hands on something. Its not always the case however, but I just assume its more on the buisness end then it is with the company itself. Maybe they arent planning on ordering as many or didnt get a good deal from thier distributors.
In any case, that guy is hedious in my eyes so I could care less what it costs lol

By all means if you can afford it then I highly recommend that you buy full retail and support the shops. I buy full retail on SOC's no problem but when it comes to items I think that are overpriced to begin with it's kinda hard to not just wait and buy it cheaper. I just don't want this hobby to become like comics in the early 90's, if you collect comics you know exactly what I mean.

I'm like Eriku: I buy what I like when it's released. And it is true that the CM Brave Gokin releases can be found a few months later at considerable decreases. But I have waited a long time for Gaiking The Great in diecast! Now if they would only tell us when it might see the light of day.
