So as far as most of the people on this forum are concern (including myself) SHE is dead. and what made you say that SHE is dead ? just because they will only produce GK ? Yup, that's exactly what I am saying, as far as I'm concern they are dead. There are a lot of obscure GK model companies out there I've never even heard of because I couldn't care less about GKs so yeah as far as I'm concern and most people like me who would have purchased a "niche" high quality pre-assembled completed resin toy/model are concern SHE is dead. True there are few people on this board who would spring for a SHE figure but out of those people I'm betting none would spring for an expensive GK with a limited run which could cost upwards to $450-500-even $700 (I've seen those Gundam G system resin kits)....like you said thats an entirely different crowd (who probably aren't even remotely attracted to this forum) Whether they survive with their new business model or not...I cease to care as I am no longer included in their "target" market. Anyway, that's just my view, so yes technically they're not dead, but as far as I'm concern the are, as they slide back to obscurity. I'm just happy my SHE perfect transformation figure will start to appreciate in light of this, and may be I could get what i actually paid for it someday should I decide to sell it.

I see what your saying lurker, most people on this forum arent concerend with model kits let alone resin figures. From what I can tell, only a handfull of us on here dabble in that type of work. its strange but theyre isnt much corssover in these two genres.
I belong to a few modeling forums and the majority of them arent that interested in completed figures. Even though a completed gundam is very close to a preproduced figure, they feel that its more of a work of art since you put the time to build it, modify it, and paint it to your own personal liking (which by the way can be done to prebuilt figures too). The same goes why toys in my FS thread do well here, but barely move in the modeling threads.
youd think there would be more of a corssover like you can relate anime fans with this toy/model collecting in general, but its not the case.
I for one are among the few that dabbles in both genres though i am not found of anytype of statues...... i can see the fun in painting one to your specifications though. Still, I do love the pick and play right out of the box action, and really, I only get models now because it either doesnt exsist in toy form or its a lot bigger then the toy that is available... im a lazy builder lol

I think SHE was a niche company that made figures a lot of the audience wanted but they couldn't produce at a lower price. There's nothing stopping Bandai or Yamato from making very similar figures for much less money but then it wouldn't be a SHE figure. I think collectors of those toys appreciate the cost and high engineering and a certain exclusiveness that comes from being a regular customer. I see SHE toys in the same class as those $1000 car models or those mahogany airplanes, you can appreciate the attention to detail and know that these items were mostly handbuilt. It's like the difference between a Chevy and a Aston Martin, both will get you to point A to B but there a certain "charm" in knowing that the Aston had a bit more attention to detail, had a bit more love and care in it's assembly, and although it's probably not as reliable as the Chevy and costs about five times as much if you could afford one you'd think it was worth it. But the truth is most regular collectors were never SHE's target audience, and like a Ferrari or Aston we may all crave to own one few of us has the means to afford one.

Chen is right. I have a SHE perfect change getter and i do appreciate the high quality engineering. Even though the resin material gives the toy a "cheaper" feeling compared to the retail price, the transformation experience is really one of a kind. With material and labour costs never going to decrease, it is unlikely that SHE will go back to release new produces ever. Looks like the release of a Simple change Getter 3 and Perfect change Shin Getter 3 will be a dream that will never materialize.

Gundam type model kits is what got me into collecting toys in the first place. Instead of a prebuilt toy that you rip right out of the box, I enjoy following the instruction and build something. It was much more gratifying and in the the beginning, Pre-production figures were just toys to me and not considered collectible. I guess that is some of the mentality that modelers have. I started to collect figures and prebuilt production figures because I got lazy (didn't too time to learn) and frankly not as talented in model building. If I had the skill some of the modelers here (Vic01 & Recca74) I buy a lot less preproduction figures and more model kits.

I begun collecting SHE products late last year and I felt very satisfied with the pieces I bought: Complete Change Dancouga Nova, Raiking, Vulking, Gungrust, Gaofighgar with Goldion Hammer, and Manouver Blade, Neiji Ryu Getter Go, Simple Change Battle Damaged Getter 1, Dragon Kaiser, MightKizer, Mightgaine, Mightgunner and Dann of Thursday.
Thus I feel very sad about the demise of the complete models as I do have the time or the skill to build the model kits.
