Expectations meet reality. I guess the market for very very expensive toys in this specialized hobby is few.

hey people, dont be wrong!!! SHE arent goint to nowhere.. they are simply saying, after november of this year , they only will be making only garage kits, without assambly!!! they are not going to make/sell any prebuilt figure no mere.they are going from november and until they can fix some internal issues, just the kits for the figure, but you have to assembly by yourself, like they do in the past.soo SHE stick with us for long time, but now , you have to built the figure by your self.

which means even less sales.......... cuz these are some complex pieces

maybe less sales ... but the man power to build them.. probably costs more. As with each new model.. means more training. more Expertise in putting it together. I'm pretty sure each model is hand put together.. and far too intricate for a machine to assemble.

Sweet. Maybe I'll get to put together one of their crazy kits some day. Perhaps they'll be closer in price to a regular resin kit. I could even deal with PG price range kits!

I'm pretty sure each model is hand put together.. and far too intricate for a machine to assemble. Definitely, each SHE figure is a hand-built piece. What I've heard from looking into this is that essentially Takashima-san is letting go all of the employees at SHE and continuing to make these figures on his own as kits, the way he did when the company started. So essentially, yes, SHE as we have come to know it is over. But SHE as the man, the sculptor, Takashima Hajime, will continue.

wow either hes super selfish (probably employees wanted more money to make these complex pieces) orrrrr he wasnt making enough to pay them. Should of done it the American way and got some people in mexico or china to build them cheap!! lol
Anyway, good to see that he is still in biz...... but this will mean even more limited production, it could mean slightly cheaper prices but the two unbuilt non painted SHE products I bought way back when (and I had no idea what i was getting into) were super expensive still.
Oh well that SRW figure looks super sweet!

I don't think selfishness has anything to do with it. For a company that specializes in low run, high cost items, I don't think this economic downturn can support Studio Halfeye as a hand-made toy manufacturer anymore. Farming work out to China is only really viable if it's not something like handcast, cleaned, resin pieces made in the production runs numbering in the hundreds. In that case, it's not really a Studio Halfeye product anymore.

How many of us here really build models let alone transforming garage kits?... Resin Garage kits are more of a pain in the @$$ than regular Bandai Gundam kits and are "that" much more fragile. i for one wouldn't trust myself to fiddle around with a $700 resin model. Its too bad, I was planning on picking up the SHE Godannar & Shin getter 2 sometime in the distant future. Of course the good news as magmatron pointed out prices for pre-assembled SHE models are going to skyrocket, getting the SHE perfect transfromation Getter actually turned out to be worthwhile ;D

Prior to this news S.H.E. was a niche product. Now that they are becoming a garage resin kit manufacturer, they are a serious niche market unto themselves. R.I.P. S.H.E.

So so glad that I got the Dann of Thursday Simple change when recently when HLJ had it up for order again. Still regretting not picking up the black version also. I really wanted the Godannar, but that will not happen now. Straight resin cast garage kits, I do hope he cast the kit in various colors as it will require next to no painting. If it was done this way, at least I will look into getting some unbuilt and build them myself. But if they are only cast in white resin and requires gluing and painting, there is no way I will buy any of these kits. I would rather go to E2046 or Hobbyfan and buy a recast of their kit instead and a fraction of the price.

so now they stop making the figures as prebuild but instead are gonna sell them just for use to build them?
so i presume we will see the figures with some what lower prizes then?

I don't think hobbyfan or E2046 have ever made recasts of a SHE product. Frankly, I wouldn't trust a recast, knowing how tight the tolerances on some SHE stuff is. Chances are it'd be next to unworkable with the mold flaws and the like.
The number of kits he sells, I don't think he could afford to stay in business if a place like hobbyfan DID make recasts of his work. Then we'd have no SHE kits at all, and that'd be a d**n tragedy.

its hard to feel good or bad if S.H. E is gone since they cost so much to even think about getting.
