So, the hot rumor circulating right now is that Shin Mazinger is going to be followed up by a Shin Mazinkaiser TV Show, based off a statement by Go Nagai at an appearance in Kuwait.
If this is true, maybe this rerelease is an attempt by MF to get the jump on a possible Mazinkaiser SOC Bandai may have waiting in the wings for us?

I have both of them as well and each of them stand on their own merits. The stand for the Max is better hands down but the weight and heft of the Aoshima truly makes it the "BIG BOY" on the block.

Nah, it is still horrible articulation. And yes, Max Factory Mazinkaiser can easily be used as the modern "Minerva X" when placed next to the Aoshima one. Oh, and I forgot to mention than when placed next to the Aoshima, it looks very fragile... just like a maiden. Even comes with a pair of white gloves in the box, straight from the factory... ;D }D i still don't understand where this Mazinkaiser female idea came from really.

Maybe because the Max Factory Mazinkaiser has "Child-bearing hips"... perhaps?!!!

Anyone got pictures of where the Mazinkaiser looks terrible? ;D Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Now, compare the Max factory to the Aoshima and decide for yourselves. ;D *** Pictures borrowed from all over! *** }D

Those arms are very.....unsightly. To say the least.

In some of those pics the elbows are unneccesarily extended. You can get half of those arm poses while only pulling out one side of the elbow tube. In the extreme poses (pics 1 & 2) it looks goofy from that angle but then again there's no other diecast Kaiser that can pull of that pose. If you want to keep the elbows tucked halfway in you can sacrifice some of that range. ( It actually still has a little bit more range than the Aoshima even if you do that. ) Here's examples of the arms in both states: pony-hp.web.infoseek.co.jp/MAX-KAISER.htmThe first picture says it all. The most likely reason why people forget to tuck the elbow tubes in is because the connection is a little bit tight (that's a COMMON Max Gokin qc problem ) so once people pull it out----if they don't keep track---they might forget it can actually go BACK IN because it doesn't feel like it's supposed to. I made that mistake early on for a while. To loosen that connection it's easier if you take the whole arm out the first few times. Once you open and close it a handful of times it goes in & out no problem.

I have both versions but personally, I prefer the look and feel of the aoshima. The only reason I got the MF version was due to its "rarity" (at that time) as well as its alternate design. If I could take just one of these on a deserted island, I wouldn't even think twice about picking the aoshima over MF. I just really hate how MF's damn blades keep falling off the saber's handles Same goes for that damn scrander, always having the tendency to fall off the MF's back. The base, isn't all its cracked up to be either, only thing good about it is that its got a slot for all the accesories, otherwise its underwhelmingly vanilla.

what ?! I guess its a matter of taste then, I also have both, and MF mazinkaiser is one of the best gokins I ever got in my opinion, I like everything about it the design the huge amount of swords many poses many pliders and the huge magnificent scrander and if you displayed it with the base with all the accessories attach it looks epic.. to me this represent so much and was the reason I wanted to buy gokins to begin with, this was and will always be one of the best gokins out there..
if you dont think you like it dont get it, but if you do dont miss this chance out because of some opinions in this thread it IS a matter of taste and for couple of years people were waiting for this reissue

I got Mazinkaiser about two months ago and I really like the look of this toy. The Aoshima version seems to bulky but maybe thats how big robots should be. I also agree that the blades come off the sword handles too easily and so do the chestplates!

Of course it is all a matter of taste... or being a completist. However, don't dismiss any of the opinions, good or bad, because they all help!

Doesn't look like there were any modifications to the 'Kaiser. Appears to be a straight ahead re-issue. Kinda bummed, really. Would've been nice to have an added accesory/weapon or something.

He looks really awesome... I just wish Max had painted his chrome parts as either ALL chrome or ALL metal instead of a mixture of both.

Now I come to see the pics... them damn elbows again. Oh well, can't win 'em all I guess. If I were to score one I'd have to study further comparisons between the two manufacturers' Kaiser versions (Aoshima vs MF) and then I'll decide which one I'd like best... just to avoid regreting one or the other later on and just having it sit there on my shelf doing nothing. zozo-Magengar
