Hmmm... I'm a little bit concerned... It doesn't look like the transformable Tobikage will fit into the phoenix cuz it is a lot smaller than the action Tobikage... I might have to end up buying 2 sets of each.

I think it should still be okay... the action Tobikage doesn't really "fit" in the phoenix either, if you look at the image - the legs stick all the way out the back of the bird mode. If the transforming Tobikage is half the size of the action one, then he just be just the right size

That phoenix is the one I'm most looking forward to out of the three. I'm going to start praying to the toy gods that Bandai puts ratchet joints in the hips. Anyone know what Bandai's preferred sacrificial animal is?

Aw geeze. I just tried combining Tobikage with Kurojishi for the first time. My only recommendation for anyone who gets this set - DON'T BOTHER. It's a nightmare in a half, there's next to no visual effect unless you pick up Kurojishi and stare at his stomach, and all you're likely to accomplish is to scratch the otherwise impeccable paint on Tobikage (which I did ). I wonder what a good color match for his knee pads would be ... his right one is all scuffed now

That's why I have display Tobikage on top of Kurojishi until Bakuryu comes out. Cause unlike Kurojishi, Bakuryu is meant to be seen with Tobikage inserted. It's kinda a waste to set him in Kurojishi anyway because Tobikage comes with so many accessories. But, we paid for the functions and the design and need to at least plug him in once, just to get the satisfaction that it works.

The text on the picture on this page also states that the tobikage from GX-54 can combine with Harioh.

Huh? I would've thought the Transformable Tobikage could be used with Horaioh but I was just saying the action type seems a little too big compared to Horaioh.

This was a photo I was intending to take ever since pre-ordering this figure: I'd throw in some Voltron lions if they weren't all boxed

So? Toys were never meant to stay in the box, unless your original intention when you bought them was to later sell them. If so then shame on you!

Nah, I've taken them out. I just happen to have put them back in and they're buried in the back of my closet. I don't have enough space in my apartment to display all of my toys at once .

GX-55 Action tobikage, Only Feet are Diecast I'm still hoping that the red parts indicate diecast, kinda like how it was when the Gx-50 Combattler prototype images were released. Gold

Hm, I don't think that's the case. For one, you can see that grey bits on the phoenix robot's chest are diecast, plus if his legs were diecast, that would make the fact that they turn into his wings a serious weight and joint stress problem...

The grey parts may not made of metal. I guess the parts with blue mark are metal.

Ah, I didn't mean all grey parts were metal, I just meant that the parts that were metal were all grey instead of red . I'd agree with the circling of the picture, those were all the parts on the figures that looked diecast to me. You can kind of expect this guy to be a bit more lightweight than Kurojishi was, due to the fact that as a flying robot he has to be able to use a standard Bandai display stand without buckling the joints

It is hard to get the equilibrium of the strength to transform and mild of weight.
