well same director as avalon huh....... that movie blew big time....... he needs to stick to anime. looks like the cgi hasnt progressed much since Avalon either.
The mecha looks ok though even though it sucked in the clip, and the girl fared better on foot in the end....... (where she looks out of place next to cgi) sorry if im bashing it but its just my Opinion for now. lol

Avalon blew? Hmmm....I just googled it was after watching the clips. I've heard mostly positive things about it, but then again that might just be from fans. I still want to check it out, just get a deeper backstory for Assault Girls----which I think is an indirect sequel.
But the KFC thing cracks me up! There's no subtitles so I'm not sure if it's just the sponsors for the game they're playing or if the multinationals become countries in the future. Looks amusing.

Yeah, it did not look very good. I doubt they had the budget for good cgi. Its just nice to see more robots in film. I feel like I have seen very similar designed robots to the one used in this film.

Say what you will about Mamoru Oshii, he always does his own thing, whether it works or not. He's a bit like a Japanese Terry Gilliam in that regard.
The first video is the low budget short film upon which the movie will be based, not part of the movie itself, I think, the CGI looks quite a bit better in the second which is the trailer for the movie.
Man, I wonder if this'll be as weird as his live action Kerberos movies...

Looks interesting for me, I'll wait and see. I find it interesting, because the mechs and ships look like stuff I usually see made by advanced DoGA-CGA users (the same 3d modeler program which I use for my Mazingers).
I like the theatrical trailer version better than the first video clip.
When I grow up, I wanna be a mech-pilot in a red rubber "geiger-esque" space suit with pasta hangin out my neck, and Coronel Sanders's face etched on the visor of my helmet. ;D
