Hello everyone, I'm pretty sure by now many of you have heard of custom action figure sculptor, Dimension Diver, most widely known for his Samus and Rockman kits. He has created several anime and video game related custom resin kits with a strong emphasis on articulation and feminine design. In about two weeks, Tokyo Hunter is going to do a video interview with Dimension Diver ! What I'm asking is if you have any questions that you would like to ask him directly. I'm looking for things like, "Where do you get your inspiration from?", "How does your design process works?" etc... etc.., things of that nature. Also, think of any characters you might like him to work on in the future. Look below to find out more information on Dimension diver. Dimension Diver's website: blogs.yahoo.co.jp/daibadiLink to his previous works: blogs.yahoo.co.jp/daibadi/folder/973980.htmlHis blog about his interests: blogs.yahoo.co.jp/daibadi/folder/973962.htmlCustom works: blogs.yahoo.co.jp/daibadi/folder/1743843.htmlVideo will be posted on YouTube as well as Tokyo Hunter's website. Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, that's some cool figures he's got there! My favorites are the Afrodai-A and Venus-A figures, they look really nice and revoltech-like! Thanks for such a great find, bro! zozo-Magengar

Glad you like his work but do you happen to have any questions you might want to ask him?

Unfortunately, I really don't have any questions at the moment. I've been under a lot of stress these days, personal domestic issues. Reading the threads here help take a load off. I'll be alright; if anything comes to mind, I'll ask then. Thanks.

I'm surprised there' lack of response for D Diver interview!
I have questions, serious ones too:
- Make the kits available, at least easier, for us, here. Don't know how to get around that, but maybe to do straight shipping to us overseas??
- Since his release are real cool and mostly girl-robot based, just release more of those female-mechas - movalbe joints for the boobs are a must!
- Make the kits available to us, and cheaply/er.
- Thank you, Dimension Diver!
Thanks.

I am a fan of their work. ^^
My questions:
-What inspired you to venture on this kind of business knowing that Max Factory Figma and Kaiyodo Revoltech have been on top of the Jointed figure business for some years now?
-Now that your works are slowly getting known (overseas), will there be a chance for a permanent monthly (and international) release instead of a WF/event releases only?
-If ever the business goes mainstream, will there be a possible price cut for mass produce kits?
-Is there any plan for a representative "Box" to store the toys instead of a simple plastic bag? Why does the joints not included for the kits?
-Who are the man/men behind the idea of doing custom figures for a profit?
-How hard is it to create such a well sculpted/articulated figure when you guys first started?
-I need to know and confirm this but does a revoltech joint fit your custom kits?
-Which current line do you guys favor for a jointed Figures? (revoltech, figma, mobip, robot tamashi,etc..)
-Lastly, did popeye inspired you to eat spinach?^^
Thank you very much DD.

Don't really have questions per say, but more like suggestions:
If his kits are more accessible (bigger production run and easily bought with a slightly lower price), and are compatible with revoltech joints, he would be rich in no time. But instead of profiting the maker, the kits end up benefiting the early buyers and scalpers at the convention who end up selling them on Yahoo Japan or ebay at double or triple the prices.
Great stuff.

Theres reason for thier high prices and why they cant be sold out side of specified events.
One, a lot of sculptors live outside of japan and have to fly in to sell their ktis, why do they have to fly in? Because, in order for sculptors to avoid paying fees usually related to the selling of licencsed charaters, all they need to do is fill out a form with the respective company. The companies (like capcom) will grant permission for the sculptors to sell thier kit but only at specific times and dates. They are also limited to how many they can sell at the event. Not only that, but they also have to pay for thier table at the convention which usually runs around $250. Also, resin has a high cost, so kits made in resin cost more to produce.
So........ they need to sell enough to at least cover thier costs and make a profit.
In any case the interview has been changed from being a video to being a questioniare. We should see something within two weeks~!
Thanks guys for all of your questions
