I think you're on to something RX78. After running the webpage thru Alta Vista it mentions that the item isn't available as a first come first serve basis and payment is upon delivery.
So even on Tamashii Web, it's a lucky draw item?? You can apply but not all applicants can get one?

This is lucky draw item's! My friend told me from Japan, coz he can't guarantee this item will be at hand. Got news too from blog :
"A lucky draw will be conducted after the pre-order end date to choose the lucky batch of owners to receive this collectible"

It seems like only just a few will be made, for the lucky draw picks alone. After that, perhaps they'll just release a few unsigned versions to the open market. I dunno.

I think you did well, lancerx. I'm going to do the same since I want it and I fear that if I don't act quickly the price will rise to a level that will not allow me to buy it.

Are you REALLY willing to pay x3 or x4 the normal price of GX-45 for a GX-45 that most of you probably own already but with gold highlights and a yellow-white pilder? Of course this arguement is invalid for the MIB collecter. ;D

There is only ONE figure I regret not getting when it first came out - the Fewture Ryoma Black Getter. However, I don't think I would get this Mazinger version even if it was for sale at the regular 6800¥. Reason is that I am not a Go Nagai fan by any means... I actually dislike the little fat guy. And yes, it will probably will be worth much more later, but I am not one to sell the figures I really like. I am sure that many of you purchased the Fewture Ryoma Black Getter when it was released for less than $500 USD, but I am almost positive that you would not sell it right now that it is fetching well over $1500. ;D That's what I mean. Some people buy stuff to make money later, and others just buy stuff they like. I am in the second group. }D

I got one at USD250 and I am hoping to be able to get another one if my Japanese friend manages to get it through the Tamashii web lucky draw. Chances are that most of the Japanese will be able to get it, so I am hopeful.

But for gokins at leat I'm a loose collecter, there's just too much goodness to leave in box!

Speculations regarding price increases are always tricky (particularly with Bandai products); sometimes you win and most of the time you loose. For Instance: Sure my Fewture Black Getter appreciated as much as $1,300 but when everything was said and done (shipping and all) I spent almost half that to get it in my shelf....and if I needed cash right now and wanted to sell it, how realistic is it to find a buyer willing to buy it for that much? I'd probably end up letting it go for $800-$900 possibly less depending on takers, still at a profit but was it worthwhile to buy something purely for speculation?...maybe, if you don't mind getting stuck with it when things go south. The black getter was one of those very few instances where I'd win (currently) technicallyfewture could reissue a black getter at anytime rendering mine worth less than what I paid to get it on my shelf. I can name a lot more instances where I would have lost, particularly with bandai's bloody re-issue policy Can you imagine if you guys were wrong and GX-45C dosen't appreciate as you speculate it would, due to a re-issue or perhaps collectors don't respond to its color-scheme, or don't see the value in it etc. ? You'd be stuck with an overpriced GX-45 with highlights. Personally, I believe GX-45A has a better chance of being more in demand someday. I'm in themazingerz's group as well

I bulieve that in this life you can be two type of person mostly, conservative or risky, me? i dont know why tha hell i love being risky. I agree with you Lurker x in almost everything but i'll take my chances, you never know, one thing for sure, and that i agreed with the mazinger, i'm not a seller type of person too. If this goes mass production then ill smash my head against the wall -
