Not enough people seem to know much about this show or how awesome it is, so here is my attempt to help the cause.

If anyone is interested in watching the rest of these episodes, they are on Youtube, but the first 1/3 of most episodes aren't available because of international copyright. It sucks, but generally the last 2/3 of each episode is the best anyway.
Here is the first awesome battle between Garo and Zero.

It does have sort of a Karas feel to it which is damn cool too! It really is like a live action anime. Xiombarg is right. One of the best Tokusatsu shows ever!

It's a seriously kick a$$ good time all around. I'm blown away by the quality of the production, especially considering it was made for TV. There are so many cool things in Garo that you can't do it justice in words. Another thing I also love about Garo is that even with how "cool" it is and with all the demons and whatnot, it's actually manages to have this underlying element of fun.

Yeah - its a great show. I've only managed to watch about 6 episodes so far since I only see them online. I'd watch more of them if I had them on disc (to watch on my TV).

You can watch the early parts at Veoh. There's also the movie Garo Gaiden there. Just type in Garo. : www.veoh.com/ (Veoh has more annoying ads though. I'd switch back to Youtube after finishing the early part, unless you don't mind Veoh's ads. ) If you register, there's more Garo uploads that are under the +18 Category. It's not really different at all, it's just that some people uploaded under adult content. It's good to have more sources in case one gets deleted. But Garo is awesome! I got a few of the figures & they're some of my favorite non-robot toys. The show has a good mix of arc-driven & standalone episodes. Also a good mix of fighting, CG & some pretty good character interaction. I hope the next Garo special triggers another wave of reissues....

I've got three of the figure sets: Zero, Garo/Gouten, and Kiba. They look totally unique on the shelf. Among all my figures these are among the few that when shown to others I always get questions about them. The only other figure I have that maybe looks somewhat similar in its intricate display presence is the 12" Mandarin Spawn, which even though I hate Spawn generally, this figure is an absolute masterpiece of design.
I've heard of problems with the construction on some figures, especially with Gouten which I'm not surprised because he is a an intricate mould with lots of cutbacks which probably makes him prone to fissures I would guess, but I love all the Garo figures.

Use this to download the episodes... www.idesktop.tv/index.htmlMembership is free. After signing up and verifying your email addy, you can go to idesktop and search for Garo stuff and download them... convert the episodes to your format choice, and save the converted file to your computer. Once that's done you can then compile what episodes you have into your own authored DVD with any dvd-authoring program of your choice (I use ConvertXtoDVD). Go to the idesktop homepage, save the page to your computer and send it as a shortcut to your desktop for quick access. Enjoy! zozo-Magengar

As a further promotion, why not some figure pics. First we've got Kiba rockin in out. Next we've got Zero, my personal fave. Gouten might just be the best sculpt I've ever seen, but the Garo figure isn't too shabby either. And finally the group shot.

I would love to get this cool horse figure. But I guess it is too late for me... its price has gone up too much - even if I can find one.

The horse (Gouten) really is an amazing piece of sculpt and fully articulated too, but it does have a couple of issues. The head and neck portion is heavy and has an articulation point at the base of the neck connecting to the body, but because of the weight it has to be either all the way up or all the way down, which for almost all poses works fine, but it would still be nice to have a tighter fit or even a ratcheted joint. In fact I wish all the joints on the horse were ratcheted so that you could really get some dynamic poses that would hold in place. The Garo figures are actually fairly heavy for plastic action figures, and most the weapons are metal (including that big old sword you see Garo holding here), so putting Garo on Gouten's back limits the poses it can hold without a stand because of the weight.

90 seconds to play?! Ya mean, he's only got 90 seconds to maintain that transformation before he goes back to being human? Damn. That reminds me of the Ultraman series; and that's why I shy away from shows in which the hero is on a "time-limited" transformation state.
Still, I do like this Garo series. I also like his talking bling bling. ;D I'll have to score it online if anyone's sharing it somewhere.

Yeah, 90 seconds. But he still has his weapons and kicks a lot of butt when he's in human form.
