Guys, after all these years i finally combined my Dalt. Admittedly, im not a huge combiner fan...just because im so freaking lazy. Or I like my SOC simple...like me. I have to say, even as simpleton as i am, it was so satisfying transforming and combining this massive beast! What joy to see everything fit perfectly with satisfying clicks!! The mass of this figure is incredible. So freaking heavy when combined. And unlike God Sogma SOC.....Bandai included proportionally correct sized head as extra accessory. Nice one. Cons There were Few parts forming. Feet hovering obove calf is unnerving. Speaking of feet, i wish the feet were metal. Both feet for smaller robot AND the combined robot. I wish, The legs of smaller robot had clickies. The knee joints wont bend 180 like modern SRC. I know, now im REALLY nitpicking at this point. Hey, i have to give Bandai SOMETHING to shoot for. Whatelse....ummmm Go get this SOC while you can if you dont have it yet. Gleefully awesome hand candy. They were awsome as individual toys, but man as a combined robot its on a another level.... Amazing job Bandai. the soc daltanius is nice, but i still wish the lions legs would hide or detach. an italian guy made a kit for it where you remove the legs and replace them with custom parts. and boy, it looks amazing afterwards!

Godsigma, Godmars, Daimos, Grendizer, Raideen, Ideon, Getter Robo, Tetsujin the classic and the 80's ver. etc.... but you know what? I'm happy for what I have so far.
All what I can do is keep hunting one at a time.. That's because I only got into collecting SoC not 2 years ago. Very expensive hobby, and every year it's getting even worse lol.

i don't know how you guys do it, because i would never pay the aftermarket prices sellers are asking for those older soc figures, even if i was rich. just knowing the real cost of the figure when it was released is enough to keep me away. that's why i buy upon preorders opening, and don't buy old figures unless they are being sold at approximately the same price as when released. and it can be done because i have done it many times with figures i didn't like before when they were released, but liked them afterwards.

Missed Godmars & Godsigma, started collecting late also. Since I don't want to pay more than retail I have to wait for reissues

I don't collect older releases anymore, instead I focus in the new ones first.... the priority is for the new releases. We have voltron, mazinger z, and megazord coming this year, and one in the next year. that should be plenty for a while lol.
aftermarket prices are bs I know, but sometimes you get a really good deal. not all the time tho. I love super robots, but I'm not planning to buy every main single SoC for so many reasons.
and sorry for going off topic.

Of those the only one which I fear we are unlikely to see a straight up re-issue of at some point is Ideon. That one would need a few engineering tweaks to really meet modern standards. The big one being the metal to plastic pin joining in the shoulders which will eventually crack from stress. It could also use a few tweaks around the hips and the telescoping thighs to make it more stable.

you guys remind me of this photo of course i dont mean to mock you by any means since you my RJ brothers so don't get it the wrong way, its just for us to laugh at for me i was a collector since i was a kid i loved robots and will always do, i have ton of vintage stuff and i used to love repaints too lol, but the store i used to buy from closed down, im sure Bader remember it, so i was forced to stop collecting, then i found out that this hobby is still alive back in 2010 and that was my come back to the game im more than happy with my collection and i guess this the key to truly appreciate this hobby "be happy and proud of what you got even if its not a big collection or not an exclusive collection" and some times you get an awesome deal on older releases, like when amazon sold Daltanius for $35 so its depend mostly on your luck

Especially in the beginning I went after the ones I really wanted and bit the bullet a few times too often to get the ones I really wanted.

yeah, tell me about it, those early days in collecting, trying to play catch-up, trying to win every damn auction on ebay that i was involved in, was the most financial draining period of my collection days

Hehe, just wanted to share this story : Got a wake up call early this morning from my friend (as of this writing, it's only 10:10 am here in Manila) who just got the re-ish GX-59. Apparently he's having trouble putting the hip piece back in Belarios' chin cavity while transforming it back to lion mode. I told him to just search for transformation videos on YouTube so I can go back to sleep, he said there's none, only videos on how to assemble it to Daltanious. So I asked him to come over and bring the toy so I can see in person what he's doing wrong. After arriving an hour later, I slapped him on the head and told him to go home and stop bothering people..... hehe, not really, I just slapped him Anyway, upon checking out how he's doing it, I noticed that the red rectangle piece at the back used for locking in Atlus is in the wrong position, it's perpendicular to the back of the lion, should be diagonal. That's why he's having a hard time pushing in the hip piece, the red part is blocking the cavity (see CORRECT position below): We also noticed that in some YouTube videos, the owner is having trouble pulling out the the hip piece from Belarios, maybe because they forced it in while the red rectangle is in the wrong position. Pulling it out should be effortless, but it's not mentioned in the manual so anybody can make that mistake. Moral of the story: don't come over early in the morning empty handed. Now he owes me cake

actually your friend is right, i didnt find any clips to show how to transform the lion, so i went to the instruction book, it wasn't so hard after you know how the joints work
