There's been a problem with these ebay posts; therefore I must take responsibility by posting my reply here as I had done in the other ebay post and to the person whom I'd given flack to for posting these types of links in a similar fashion... -----
(I'm not a staff member nor a moderator. But still, i shoulda known better)
I stand corrected on this and I shoulda called it out right then. The gundam item isn't as rare as something vintage or obscure that is out of reach by anyone. That ebay sale shows there are several of the same items left for availability. In this case where this (and another ebay item, in this forum) was posted in this manner--- it should've been done via private messaging between the person who found it and whoever is searching for that particular item. Example: Let's say I were looking for a Hero Collection Mazinger figure and someone here found an ebay sale for it-- then the person who found it should PM me with the link instead of posting it publicly. If there were SEVERAL of the HC Mazingers available I wouldn't mind if the link were posted publicly because I'd at least have a chance to bid on one or buy one under the "Buy It Now" option. But if it were just ONE HC Mazinger up for sale and it were posted publicly, yeah I'd get upset if I got beat out before i could bid on it.
But now back to the point... I sincerely apologize for calling something like this out the first time and not catching it now; I cannot nor will not justify my mistake, therefore I stand corrected.

MAgengar what is this??you warned me about posting ebay sales but this is ok?by a mod?huh? This listing isn't an auction, it's a "buy it now only" listing with multiples of this same item, so by posting this it's not driving up prices for those that might be following an auction situation. Essentially it's no different than posting an online store listing. If it was an auction listing I wouldn't have posted it.

YES BUT point bing someone can snatch it up without having to look for themselves remember the thrill of the hunt, and people finding things on their own gives everyone a fair chance THAT is also one of the points of not listing ebay auctions that arent YOUR OWN.AND thats what I WAS told by several people!THE AUCTION I LISTED WAS BUY IT NOW ALSO!!!!AND I WAS CHASTENED!

I'm sorry that you felt unfairly chastened. I'll quit posting up things I find.

Brocken, I guess when you name yourself after a mediocre baddie people can get pretty harsh...kidding, brother. If you feel you are ever done wrong here at RJ, do not hesitate to PM a mod and admin. We have blue stars, lots of them...so if you are ever confused just let us know. Welcome to the board.

Back on topic. Is this anything better than the standard release? I have the regular release and it is quite awesome.

Back on topic. Is this anything better than the standard release? I have the regular release and it is quite awesome. I have one regular and one DX version, and the only difference with the DX version is that the stickers are metallic and a minimal amount of matte gold paint to some of the gold plastic pieces. The ironic thing about the paint is that to me it looks less like gold than the gold plastic because of an odd tint it has. I guess you could say that the box is something better, which is fairly cool I guess. But all in all it's really just a repackaging of the same figure.

Thanks for posting this. It's an interesting set, but still a bit pricey thanks to the high shipping costs. Has anyone made any sort of review threads about this? I admit I've been a bit lax in following the mugenbine series stuff. As for the "don't post sales because people will have too easy a time finding and buying them" argument... good lord. Seriously?

Thanks for the info on the DX. I know there was once a whole thread dedicated to this figure, thought it may be hard to find. There were lots of pics and reviews. It really is an awesome figure. My only gripe is how it is hollow, but I got over it considering that it is essentially a candy toy. I have considered trying to fill it and paint it, which is why mine still is sticker free. I have also seen some interesting combination by taking parts from other sets and adding on. In its separate forms, it is OK, but its final combined form is really the reason to buy it.

Excluding any vintage Mugenbine sets, the Pharoah is my favorite. It seems that the Mugenbine line may have been discontinued, or at least I haven't seen any new sets announced for quite awhile. I think Mugenbines would have been more successful if they would have limited the number of unecessary connection points in order to give them a more streamlined look. I really liked the basic idea of the Mayan guy that came out awhile ago, but he was just too texturally overloaded, kind of like Bionicles.

How big is that figure once combined? He's pretty cool.

Without measuring I would say he's about 9 inches. He's fairly decently sized once combined.
WARNING for those that are unfamiliar with this guy. He is a combined candy toy, which means absolutely no frills. What I'm saying is that his total cost was less than $10 retail when he came out in Japan. All the pieces are hollow, single color, one piece plastic with stickers supplied to add detail colors. I will say that he fits together solidly and he's very posable and holds his poses well, but don't expect each individual piece to be anything beyond what you might pay a couple dollars for from the candy aisle of 7-11, or what you might get out of a happy meal. I really like this guy and he's lot's of fun to monkey with, but just recognize what he is.
