That is a nice looking Megatron. Makes me regret buying the Henkei version.

I think the huge pieces of plastic on his sides makes him look totally stupid.
Prime looks deadly though, wish he wasnt totally over priced... I dont realy wanna pay 30-50 bucks for a toy thats normally 12-15 bucks in stores.

The wings are lame, but there is a simple mod to remove them and store them. If you cut a section out of the loop where they connect, you can slide them on and off as needed.

its still your choice what version of classic megatron will u get but for me this is the best, very g1 colors close to the cartoons! me too, glad i didn't get the henkei or classic version before! edge: those two "wings" at his back are covers for the NERF gun mode, i also hate it really...hope i can detacjed them w.out damaging the toy...

Okay, this is the first transformers united toy I have purchased. Got it fresh yesterday from amiami. With shipping it was, Still cheaper than the listing price for both bbts and tfsource. I never got the henkei version and didn't like the original classics version. Out of the 3, the classics version has the weakest color scheme. I just couldn't even qualify that one as megatron. Did not buy the henkei version because I was not able to find one at a decent price. Luckily, like the new RTS Bumblebee, this mold got reissued and IMO has the best color scheme.
Now, here are my dislikes, the paint app. Couple of sloppy paint spot on mines, especially on the red painted parts. The last takaratomy figure that I got prior to this one was the Wingblade optimus prime and it too suffers from these flaws. The painted part aren't done as nicely as it should. Also, the silver paint on the figure could rub off. During transformation, as careful as I was, just holding and gripping the arms and legs, I've notices some of the paint rubbing off the figure. Now this could be a flaw only on mines. Perhaps the paint is so fresh on mines, it hasn't all dried yet. Other dislike includes the legs. Pretty much can't stand flat footed unless you have both legs totally straight. I guess this was the best they can do with their engineering from 2006. Would have preferred ball joints on the hips and legs instead of ratchets.
Overall, I do like this figure. My collection of classic style Transformers just doesn't feel complete without this Megatron. Nothing against the masterpiece version, it just doesn't fit in with the classics stuff. Even with igears mini version, it is just not modern enough for me. To me, classics is about retaining the original generation 1 look in both bot and alt mode at the same time updated. Example, Sideswipe is a contach lambo and comes back as a mixture of lambo, you get the point. All the other Megatrons are tanks, or jets, and this one, although is not a realistic gun, still turns into what he should be, a gun.

same here, either u can stand him best if the feet is too narrow or too wide apart...yes thats one problem in ratcheted hips and legs, also encountered it on my TFU powerglide but not on my Storm cloud...i think there i is way u can adjust them...

Wait, so Jazz is "Jazz" instead of "Meister" in a Japanese release?! Takara has been using Hasbro's names on everyting (except Masterpiece and Henkei) since the movies. Notice that it's United Optimus Prime and not Convoy this time around, too. Emerje

Kinda sucks that they will end this line so soon. I wouldn't rule out skullgrin as you know how takara like to make exclusive and limited release. Just last year, we got ghost starscream for the henkei line. The UN Tracks and Jazz look extra nice in vehicle mode. Couldn't say the same about the recent pictures I saw of Wreckgar and Perceptor. Pretty clever of Takara to come up with the name for the line (United) uniting both Hasbro's Generations and Reveal the Shield line.

Pretty clever of Takara to come up with the name for the line (United) uniting both Hasbro's Generations and Reveal the Shield line. Imo United Wreck-Gar looks so much more better in 'person'. there's silver paint touch-ups here & there but not so much as to overwhelm the figure. it's quite subtle actually. Other than that, his face is painted silver while the chest area & parts of his lower legs are painted in cool metallic dark red/bronze-like finish. In fact I like him so much that, I'm gonna get the RTS Wreck Gar as well. the difference between the two versions makes it worth to have 'em both. the RTS one will be in bike mode for the United Wreck Gar to ride in style! LMAO ;D It goes the same with United Perceptor too. the metallic paint finish is rather subdued maroon color. it's not shiny glossy but more akin to satin.
