There is no such thing as a too small collection. Once you collect you're a collector!
Sometime it's best to have a smaller but well displayed one.

You guys collections are amazing. I skipped quite a few SOC's because I had to stop collecting at one point and actually had someone steal more than half my collection but I was able to get them back.
Now I'm back and some of the SOC's I missed I'm buying at reasonable prices. Some I would have passed on because I have no history with the robot like Daltanious. Thanks to you guys and the proliferation of YouTube reviews I can see if those robots are good buy or not now.
I know I have a list somewhere. I'll post it when I find it.

I hear stories about toys ruined in a fire or flood but never theft. Give us details if you don't mind.

I hear stories about toys ruined in a fire or flood but never theft. Give us details if you don't mind. It's actually really simple. It was an inside job. My wife decided she wanted a divorce so she left our home. I had all of my collection pieces still in their boxes that they were shipped in. Each box had a number on it which corresponded to it's name on an Excel spreadsheet. I noticed that my pile started to get smaller. She still had a key to the house and would come in while I was at work and steal them. Then during the divorce proceedings while we were in the judge chambers my lawyer asked for the return of my collection pieces because they were related to my childhood. She turned on the water works and lied to the judge saying that I bought them for our kids, the oldest being 13 and the youngest being 6 (one boy). I balked at it but he was a sap and gave her my collection. Some men think that a crying woman doesn't lie and that they really need a man to save them. It is the biggest lie out there which why women constantly get away with assault while men are seen as the biggest offenders in domestic violence. No one believes you. I digress. So she got away with it and I had started to try to repurchase pieces but it was difficult because I pretty much spent 10K (cash) on the process and those pieces were not more expensive or harder to find. I eventually stopped to build up my savings again and to rid myself of marital debt. I did a deployment and when I returned she wanted me to visit my kids. So I did. Things were amicable at the time so I stayed in the guest room at her place. One night I opened a closet and there were all my pieces. When my trip was over I loaded up my collection and left to go back to continue my vacation. Her intention was to hurt me and sell my collection because she was with me when I sold something I had two of so all she saw was dollar signs. They weren't hers and she was wrong to take them from me. She took the two month old, built from the ground up, 3800 sqft house and the biggest paid for SUV. Why take my collection? Just evil! LOL! Alls well that ends well. I got them back in the same condition that I lost them. Brand new in sealed boxes. It was a happy ending. LOL! She wasn't so happy about it but they weren't hers anyway.

11 atm .. and I think they are taking so much space lol. I'll stop collecting at some point. I kind of already have - I'm now buying mostly vintage Transformers which don't come cheap, so I can't really afford SoCs anymore. The only ones I'd consider dishing out the cash for at this point are the Mazinger girls and maybe the two mechanical beasts so I could finally complete at least that franchise, and probably God Sigma, but I'll just wait for a re-release of that one before I pay secondhand market prices for it.

Thanks for sharing this story. I think as collectors we fear all kinds of things but I think not many people have that experience or expect that to be a reason for them to lose their collection. I am glad you have them back. I also need to post a few photos of my SOC/SRC display. Because I only own 4 Detolfs and only one is dedicated to %90 SOC.

Two. Original daitarn 3 and battle fever. Opened both to look at but never taken out of the package/wrapping. Part of my very small modern gokin collection as I am a heavy vintage collector.
I am considering two or three more in the future but I find it very hard to like SOC for a few different reasons. I do agree that they are amazing figures most of the time though.
