Ah crap I want one I think it looks amazing! Great now I have to get a Rodimus Prime too, damn might have to skip the DX YF-29. Now I have to see just how tall Rodimus/Optimus is too Grimlock. Anyone have a pic of Rodimus next to Grimlock?

found this ones on google now i wouldn't mind if someone here that owns both Grymlock and Rodimus could take a pic for scale comparison.

The front grills and the lower legs look different... Looks like a more solid ankle/foot assembly. I need to see a clearer picture to like this better than MP-01. found this ones on google

this looks very good . Just that I cant see myself buying it right now. I bought the Mp01lL to replace my 1st version Mp01 . Seeing this is smaller . I'm questioning the diecast content . I'm gonna wait on this one. Maybe if there is Hasbor release...

Smaller, likely less diecast but more accessories and $100 more than MP-01's initial issue price of $150
This is an easy pass for me, unless I see a hasbro version at my local TRU.

Mania Level: High? ;D
I'm kinda conflicted on this. I already own 5 mold copies of the original MP-01, but they have to bust out a new version that's more in scale, looks more poseable and has much better styling. The only thing that's holding me back is the price.
I'm beginning to feel Convoy is the RX-78 of Transformers.

Looks good in both modes. If they are making everything in scale, might as well save up for possible smaller Megatron.

Even if Hasbro release this Prime and it doesn't have a trailer I'd rather get that one over than this one . Its the price that stopping me. Wouldn't it be a kick IF the next MP is Megatron. I don't know that I'd buy another Megs .
I like this Prime's improvements over the older Primes and that makes this tempting but would that hold true for Megs and for that matter any of other previous releases. I really was hoping that G1 Bumble Bee or other G1 character was/would be next ... Prowl would have been cool. Anyway I'll keep this figure in mind for down the road.

Cool pics, I guess with some creative posing you can make Rodimus and Optimus look a tad smaller than Grimlock plus Grimlock still has those super wide shoulders that makes him look like massive too. Now i just have to wait for Amiami to get a pre-order so I can hopefully get a 25% discount, still the price is pretty steep. On the good side I found a store selling Rodimus for around $150 so I can at least get a tiny price break on that one.

Easy pass, doesn't seem like much of an improvement to me. I hate how long his "ab" grill is, he looks like he's been stretched out. I also don't like how big the wheel covers/wells on this sides of his legs, I'd rather see the wheels than the obvious cover. No Jetpack or Matrix? At least the new alt mode looks like a real truck now, mirrors and all. Hey look, you can see where Hasbro plans to cut off the smoke stacks. But no way is this a $250 figure. Rodimus had two bot modes and two alt modes and didn't cost that much. I bet Hasbro does it without a trailer for under $80. Emerje

You know I don't even recall Optimus having his rear wheels covered in the cartoon. I think its always been exposed...its an iconic part of the mecha design's appeal. I also agree with the abs its beyond anime accuracy and somewhat threads more on custom styling...
I'm just really kind of dissappointed about this development, if they were going to invest in a new mold anyway there's a whole slew of other G1 transformers they could have choosen for "MP" treatment.

In the cartoon and Marvel comics Prime's wheels on his leg would disappear. It was only with the Dreamwave stuff that the wheels showed up again and even then it wasn't consistent. Personally I think this is a mix of the cartoon Prime and THS Prime plus some creative license. I think it looks good but I can sympathise people who balk at the cost, it's super steep.

Hate the legs, but I love the clear parts on the waist area. Supposedly the "one touch" transformation just refers to the gun and not Prime itself. Oh and you can just bet there's gonna be an Ultra Magnus down the road. ;D Gold

Feel a bit odd about this release. Its a pretty nice sculpt, and has a more modern proportion to it. But do I really need another prime with a trailer? MP-01 used to be in scale with all the BTs. When it is scaled to match MP Rodimus, its becoming a pretty small truck. I suppose it can match with Alternity? But that line is already dead with very few entries. So not really sure what Takara is trying to shoot for. If they just want to match Rodimus, then its not that great of a reason, with Grimlock still being a bit small and not quite in scale with them either. I suppose they just want to match the robot mode, and disregarded the vehicle mode?

Isn't the Alternity 1/32 scale? If so, many of the classics line falls into roughly the same size. So this prime would go perfect with a lot of classics figures. Of course that would make the Hot Rod alt mode out of scale. Here is a pic comparing Classics hotrod to MP size. transformersrollout.wordpress.com/2011/03/14/masterpiece-rodimus-prime-review-part-1/So alternity etc.. might be too small, which would mean MP would just be inclusive to itself.

The MP01 may have matched the BT's in trailer mode but it towered over them in bot mode. That and his size compared to the Seekers is why iGear made the Mini Prime.
I think Takara is shooting for about the size of the iGear Prime. Which is close to being in scale with the BT's and Seekers and Grimlock when in robot mode. This may be a little larger then the iGear Prime, but I do think that is a good thing. I have 2 of them and I have always felt they were just a little too small. This looks like it will be in pretty good scale with most of the MP's except Megatron. That guy is just too big for his own good. I havenver liked his size in either mode.
