My excitement of this set subsided, after knowing CM's is developing Big Shooter, as well as the Earth/Sky/Marine Parts. Would rather have a whole matching set with same material & paint apps. This Jeeg set looks pretty good (but yeah, the paint on prototype is a bit rough), but now that I look at the whole thing in color, it doesn't gel as well with the Classic Jeeg shapes and colors. Don't look like they have chrome for the joint covers either, which they may or may not change on the real thing.
Might have to get the CM's stuff instead.

Well, from what I've read CM's will be releasing the parts separately in 3 releases. Each one with a Jeeg torso and head. If that's gonna be the case, I guess it's going to be very expensive to get the whole set. At least with this, you a get a different Jeeg and the parts as bonus.

Great news! CM's is rockin'!!! Now, why is Koutetsu Jeeg such a huge hit all of a sudden? I like Jeeg, and a good classic Jeeg figure has been long overdue, but two companies releasing the classic Jeeg with all those accessories at the same time is just weird. All that is left now is Bandai to release Classic Jeeg in the SOC or even SRC line... or both!

I don't know... the paintjob looks kind of sloppy. Especially noticeable on the light green lines on the legs and the red circles on its chest. Something I could forgive on a sub-$50 figure, but this thing costs nearly $150. Even with all those accessories, I'd expect a crisper paint application with such a price tag. Am I being too difficult? The prototype looks really lumpy - the parts doesn't have that crisp shape. The accessories are not detailed enough to match Shin Jeeg design. I prefer the proportion on the Bandai variant - (if only the magnets were so weak)

So this is the original Jeeg... buy as it was portrayed in the show about the separate, Shin Jeeg?
I have to be careful, this can confuse a man.

Seems like some people never seen the Koutetsushin Jeeg anime. One more time, this is not KOUTETSUSHIN JEEG. This is the classic Koutesu Jeeg which appeared in the final episodes of the KOUTETSUSHIN JEEG anime. That is why it looks different than the Koutetsu Jeeg from the 1970's anime. If you haven't done so yet, check the KOUTETSUSHIN JEEG anime out, it is pretty good!
As far as how the particular figure looks, remeber that that is a prototype...

Guyz .... think of it this way .... it is like the GX-07 mazingerz which is mazinger z but not the classic mazinger z from the 70s show but it is from the 2000 mazinkaiser OVA... diferent rendetion of the character

Well, kind of. The GX-07 is the manga version of Mazinger Z, which was used in the Mazinkaiser OVAs. The 1972 anime Mazinger Z was more of a TOEI Animation design modification, to make it more appealing.
But back to Koutetsu Jeeg, all of the versions are great, and I'm really hoping that Bandai decides to also make the classic rendition as well.

But that variant looks soooo good.
I'm just a sucker for translucent plastic variants.

hmmm ... this version suggests that the jeeg figure won't have that much metal in it!! the molds of his body are made for plastic use !!! I thought it will be like the CM brave gohkin at least..

But none of the Jeegs have that much metal in the outside armor anyway, right? It is mostly inside to accommodate for the magnets and joints instead.
