Based on the web site info from Evolution, this toy should be available in Mid Jan 2012.
I have 3 re-issue of Takara of Jeeg, then I can fully utlise the air, land and sea mode parts from this toy and transform my Jeeg into 3 different Modes. ;D

I received my Evolution Toys Koutetsu Jeeg today. Here are a few pics: Well, it is definitely more stable than the SOC Koutetsushin Jeeg, and that is good. Unfortunately, the reason why it is more stable than the SOC Koutetsushin Jeeg is because this Jeeg is all plastic, and light plastic at that. The only thing that gives it weight are the magnetic joints. The paint job is very nice, and I'm sure you didn't notice any screw holes in the back. Well, that is because it has screw hole covers! I haven't messed around with it too much yet, but I can tell you that at least mine has extremely tight bicep joints - scary tight! Changing the hands is also a pain! I haven't been able to pull the peg out of the hands yet (may have to use a hair dryer to do so). Anyway, I'll play with it some more when I have more time and maybe post more pics here. For those that are wondering if it is worth it, I say... yes! }D Edit: I tried to pose it next to the SOC Koutetsushin Jeeg, but today was not a good day for the SOC. It did not want to stay up for more than a couple of seconds before the foot joints gave in an it came crashing down... ;D

Not gonna be easy for those that want the Black ver. Limited to 25 pieces, available at the campus of 2/12/12 Winter Festival (10am - 5pm), Hall 6, at the Evolution Toy's booth. 14000yen for price. 2000yen for Winter Fest admission.
However, they did hint that "they may release more in the future, stay tuned!!". But they didn't make it clear if its more Black Ver., or other variants to come.

Cool pics! Does it come with a head without the eyeballs painted? I never liked that on Shin Getter and I'm not to fond of it on new old Jeeg. Also what's with the gash on the back? Was it in the anime its been awhile since I've seen it. Also standing next to the SOC it makes the SOC look pretty bulky, to bad its about as stable as a sailor on shoreleave in Las Vegas lol.

Well, the other head it comes with is kind of/sort of a head. It doesn't have the pupils, but it is actually Hiroshi cyborg morphing into the head - it looks weird. I don't think the Koutetsushin Jeeg had pupils, but its been a while since I watched the anime.
The gash... beats me! I don't recall how it happened, or if they even showed it. Looks weird and sticks out like a sore thumb...

Kotetsu Jeeg had eyeballs in the show but I don't remember the gash could be a factory defect.

Yeah, Koutetsu Jeeg did, but not Koutetsushin Jeeg. There is one exception to the pupils looking bad in Super Robots... In the Armageddon OVA, the Black Getter had pupils, but only when it was being piloted. Otherwise the eyes would be all yellow. There is a scene when Ryoma comes out of the cockpit and the pupils shut down, and I think it looked pretty cool. }D

That gash on his back looks like a factory slip. But then again, a closer look, it also has blue paint in it like the panel lines in his chest armor... so, I'm guessing it's just another panel line like the rest. Interesting specimen. Thanks for the pics. zozo-mag
