Anyone know if the Japan popy release of the Jumbo Raydeen came with the Single Rivet attached shield as well as the 2-screw shield?
Most of the Popy Raydeens I've seen had the 2-Screw type. But there are loose auctions that have the Single Rivet type. Since it's so easy to swap parts, hard to say what was really original.
I'd be kind of surprised if the rivet type was replaced by screws. Usually the less metal and attachment time the better for the bottom line. So it's also odd that Mattel later went to 3-Screw version.

I have personally seen the single rivet shield on my friend's Popy Raydeen. He was the original owner with the original box and mini catalog all in Kanji. I've owned one of every version...the early versions and one of the later version, MIB and have seen the different shields. I can't tell you why Mattel did what they did though.
