Thanks guys. Well tonight I got up to item number 600 and that should be about it. Sheesh, it is an addiction! I didn't count all the machine robos (divided them into 3 or 4 groups), and didn't count all the Super Gobots either.
Keep in mind that the RJ photos are a collaboration, but only 60% of my collection has been documented on site.
Then I have found hidden loose toys, like a hoarder reforming, it is crazy to look forward to space and back and how many neatly stored toys there are.

P.S. it will really be great catching up with everyone in person. Hopefully most of you can make it to the auction in Fall.

Wow! Wotta bombshell Ed! I was certainly expecting you to do something to clear up the collection room for family use, but didn't know how you'd go. If it feels right, and freeing, it's right.
You can certainly say you've had one of the most comprehensive collections, with a most interesting journey while aquiring stuff, and sharing with the world. Thanks for sharing so much thru your love o' the robawt, and I'm glad I got to visit the collection in it's home habitat, lol.
Going thru stored stuff must be a blast, and having it all in book form will be cool. I'd be a fool to miss attending, and bidding in the fall, and will see you there, if not sooner in FL. Wish you the best!

Thanks guys. Here was part of an email I just sent out, it will help with some questions:
".........yes, it has been super busy cataloging and packing. In general, I'll have one of everything high profile in the hobby of diecast robot-wise with the exception of a few Popy oddities that most people don't collect. -Robot wise that is, 1973 up to 1986 or so.
So there will be a Godaikin Stand, Tetsujin Godaikin MIB, Tetsujin SG-01 MIB, Zanbot Combo DX MIB, Dairugger MIB, Voltron set MIB/AFA-85, and on and on. MINTY stuff, my pride and joy, but it is time to share.
So you won't be disappointed and I suggest budgeting accordingly.
Highlights-- Black Daltanious MIB, raideen Black MIB, Jetfire AFA85 sealed, a case of Shogun Warriors from Germany AFA encased and unused."
I've meant to get back to people's individual emails & sorry I've been unable....so hopefully this will help answer while I am not online.

Wow, seems like all the cool kids are getting out / trimming down their collections. I gota say that abandoning my old "completist" habits has been one of the best things I've ever done and eliminating a ton of my collection has felt like a huge load off. Quality over quantity Dunno if i could ever cut the cord completely like you though.

Is there a link or web site to Morphy's, and what is the auction date if you know or have an idea? Just want to make sure your stuff goes to our good home collections rather than being sold off on Ebay later by chumps.

LOL. The cord will still be there, but I'll concentrate on free animation and less materialistic aspects. Also, I greatly enjoy the toys my kids have chosen to keep like Godzilla and a few quirky toys. PLEASE let us hope the toys will go to the end hobby users like all of us So plan please for Fall of 2012. I also hear that Dan will offer financing for a few months. E

Hey admin1 is there a web site we should know about, to log onto? I want to make sure I join the site to get warnings when this comes up, so I can make sure to give some of your items a safe home with me.

www.morphyauctions.com/It will be a while though before you see anything about it. Its a slow process documenting and photographing everything, plus creating a catalog.

OK....toys packed.....trailer filled....... the drive has begun.
It isn't a trip I'm taking. I don't think I can stand the idea of feeling every bump, but soon the auction house will have toys to begin the cataloging, photographing, and book making.

Planning to see you there Ed. I was just at the Antique City Fun Fair in PA, and Dan Morphy and crew had a booth set up, and he confirmed the September time frame. Seemed pretty happy to try out another collection in this "new" whippersnapper area of collecting, LOL.
Compared to all the other much older antique areas of bidding and collecting, our hobby is one of the newest to come to come to maturity in terms of being viable to set up an auction house event on. Will be interesting to see it develop.

Funny, but true comments about the age of our toys vs normal "antiques." I'd say, though, that when you look at the amount of cash that is thrown around, that gets the attention. I've always said they are better made than most any other toys that were truly meant to be played with. I'm very much looking forward to the "event". If toys sell at modest to low prices, I'm hoping friends can enjoy the bots for me, especially those of you that can make it in person E

OK, I JUST completed my draft copy of the descriptions and robot list. Whew.... I may post the pre-edited listing for fun....if there is interest, and Dan doesn't mind.

I may post the pre-edited listing for fun....if there is interest, and Dan doesn't mind. If Morphy's is cool with it, I certianly would like to see the listing! - since I have only seen/know of a portion of your collection I can only imagine the amount of work involved with putting this all together.
