Is it just me or the way hasbro/takara have been overloading bb in toys have caused people to dislike the character.
Or maybe not just in toys but as a character in general as he's always the go to character as the cool young autobot whenever theres a new cartoon.
Because im sorta feeling bumblebeed out.

I think i remember Hasbro mentioned that their toy lines are meant for kids. So since kids loves bumblebee. They overstock him. And they blame retailers if they no longer want to restock transformers. Thats what happened to DOTM Unreleased toys.

Unfortunately, I blame the unremarkable movie designs where almost every Transformer in robot mode looks the same. Except Bumblebee. Because, you know, he has a yellow face that matches his yellow vehicle mode. So he kind of sticks out and the kids recognize him the same way the kids like Darth Vader - because he's pretty much the only character in an all-black suit in the original trilogy.
So Hasbro is basically doing to Transformers what they do with Star Wars: they over-pack the recognizable characters simply because they know that's what will sell. How stupid would it be if a parent went to the store looking for a recognizable Transformer for this child and couldn't find the only one that stuck out.
I know, I know - I'm not saying I personally don't recognize the various Transformers, but I'm saying for the average shopper who is not a robots-fan like us, it must be pretty hard. It's not like back in the G1 days when you could ask mom and dad for the "red van" (Ironhide) or the "black jet" (Skywarp), etc. Back then, when Ironhide turned into a robot, he pretty much remained a guy in red and so on... Michael Bay's Ironhide doesn't really look like he turns into anything when he's in robot mode.

Right now at my local stores, BB once again covers the shelves. The Prime BB is everywhere.
