Since it is being reissued in June, I would think that the original retail of $100-110 is fair...

U.k version is now available !!! Just picked up from tru in U.K. I think its the same as hasbro U.s version. The box looks exactly the same no extra stand or anything that bbts is quoting.

Hi , does anyone know what differences are in the hasbro and takara versions? Is it just shorter stack and battle damage ? Or do they have diffent die cast content ? Cos I'm contemplating should I buy the Takar version aswell ! Or buying longer stacks for my hasbro version . Any help would be appreciated.

On the toy itself, Takara MPC had the longer stacks, no battle damage paint, The later 20th OPs had the black gun instead of the gray one that came with the Takara MPC. The Takara MPC had a cardboard insert that could be folded to look like the trailer, while the Hasbro OP was packaged in a box to look like the insides of the trailer.

IIRC, Prime talks to Bumblebee when you open his forearm "comunicator screen." Convoy talks to Starscream. (or was that the other way around?

Lord Zarak, you can get replacement stacks from eBay or various sites around the WWW. Some are chrome, some are not. Never had the opportunity to dismantle mine to see how it works but I do know the Japanese version has springs. Dunno if the replacement stacks come with the springs or if the US/UK version has thenm in already.

to those who will purchase the recently reissued MP-01... pls. check OP first before paying ... i checked a couple of reissue OPs and there's seems to be QA problems... there are paint chips, uneven paint jobs and several nicks on plastic parts...
... if you are getting it on-line, ask the seller to show you pictures of the actual product...

Refer to pics below: Visible Flashes (cut-out extra parts from sprues) in the encircled areasTAKARA did not make a new Box for the re-issued MP-1, still has the "More Than Meets Teh Eye" slogan . Refer to 2nd pic, box template still year 2003 Now how to know if it's 1st release or re-issued On a positive note, to those missed the 1st release you can get the MP-1 cheaper Got mine for US$76. Cheers ;D dri1

tnx for posting the pics bro. i think those are sprue nib marks. when they take the plastic parts from the molds, they come in sprue "trees". similar when you open a gundam model kit, you see the parts attached together with sprue/plastic stems. then on assembly the workers nib/cut the parts from the trees. if you have a cutter that is dull or not sharp enough. the resulting nib mark will have whitish stress marks on the cut area. similar in the pics above. on model kits i brush it with a little bit of tamiya "super thin" cement (the runny stuff, not the regular heavy tamiya cement). it melts the whitish stress marks a little bit, then it disappears. but i don't know if the plastic of MP-01 will react the same to the tamiya super thin cement. in case your MP-01 will have these white stress marks on the nib marks, it's up to you if you will follow what i do with tamiya super thin cement. if you do, don't apply too much. and do first the nib marks on primes back side to see the effect first

may i ask dri1. does the mp-01 reissue still has the paper box insert that can be made as a trailer for optimus? are all the features very similar to the first issue of mp-01?
