In case you missed it, most all of my collection will be sold off at Morphy's auction house in Pennsylvania. I've found that a very few toys, mostly duplicates, will keep me happy. -Still in the hobby, but getting rid of the materialistic side. robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19700It loolks like the sale will be in September, and there will be a book or catalog published of the details. In fact, that publication is something I've always wanted....so it will be a great reference if nothing else Ed P.S. The toys are up north already. I'm on catalog description 400 or so of the 500-600 toy lots. It has been a work in progress, LOL.

You can buy all catalogs shortly before the auctions go live, from most auction houses, including Morphy's. They don't usually print and sell the catalogs too far in advance, since they like to get as many consigned items in for each sale, and always working on the next one. Keep an eye on the MorphyAuctions.com site, and order when available.

That seems about right Jon. Right now you can independently check with Morphy's and see what they have to say . I'm not too sure yet.

Morphy's sent out free copies of the catalogs on that first Japanese robot auction a couple years ago. All you had to do was give your address. And they were hardbound copies too. Can you find out if they wil do the same for your auction?

Wow! Haven't been on the site in a while and this is one of the first things I see when I log back on! I actually understand where you are coming from Ed and I too am in the process of selling most of my collection, though I do not nearly have as much as you. My Dad had throat cancer and was in and out of the hospital for a couple months. It was pretty scary and I really ended up taking a step back and looking at my life. My wife are even thinking of moving into a smaller apartment to save money. Just like you I will always love Japanese robots but I have found a much cheaper hobby that is equally nostalgic, snap together Dinosaur models. Ones that my Dad and I used to build together when I was little

jeromy-- Thanks for the kind words and I wish your father good luck with treatment. Yes, the hobby is fun as long as priorities don't get in the way. If they do, sell now and just repurchase later if you want. Or evolve xtrlowz75, I did the same for the previous auction. Toys tended to be very goo deals, so you are being smart. With 500 or so lots, there are bound to be great deals due to pure numbers. @ Glane-- The previous freebies were courtsey of Morphy's or Alen Yen, so I will be checking into that. But I can't make promises, as they are big books and the choice is probably with Dan. I will be checking, and I will get as many freebies as possible.

I want that Japanese box Tetsujin! Better yet, get the Combine-in-Box....its infinitely more rare. BTW, it does have unique hand and drill designs that were later improved in the Godaikins. -then suspenders
