So is it a completed figure? i saw the notice, but assumed it was a model kit to build.

It is a complete action figure with diecast. The previous Metalboy's were model kits with no diecast. The Getter and Grendizer do look cool, but I just can't bring myself to add SD figures to my collection - much less at the price they sell for. I've always found the SD concept pretty ridiculous, no matter how cool the toys may be. }D

The retail price is roughly the same as their previous unassembled unpainted resin kit version - cheaper even, if you get it from AmiAmi at %14 off. Interesting. I'm not into SD figures, but it might be difficult to resist the charm of Grendizer and the Mazingers, should they turn those into metal bricks as well.

I think what I like about the SD stuff is that it conveys a sense of fun, a lot of these Animus are pretty serious but in the end they are "cartoons". I also like how they emphasize the head which really shows off the design and just how unique each sr head design is. Their like mini busts with arms and legs.

Aww man, those are adorable. But it looks like knee articulation will be limited since there are no cuts in the back of the legs for movement New Grendizer looks cool too. BTW what is teh difference between SD and ES? SD stands for Super Deformed, an Anime classification term (aka "Chibi"). while the ES based off Artstorm's Super Deformed "ES Gokin" line. Not sure what the ES stands for though. But Artstom's non-SD line is called EX Gokin Gold

There's a few styles of SD the ES stuff is super deformed but they still keep a heroic proportions while the MB stuff is more egg or babylike. It depends what you like the egg style is more classic while the ES stuff is more in-line with the SRW video game style where their more "dwarf" like then SD.

Pre-ordered Getter Dragon, I just find this type of SD a more classical version the ES ones. Also some pics of the light up feature. www.metal-box.jp/mb/?id=883Here's a piuc of the resin kit versions, so I'm sure if the MB ones sell we can see toy versions of these. www.metal-box.jp/products/

Aaaaaaw crap... I want those.
I've just placed a pre-order for Grendizer at AmiAmi. Getter G is sold out there and at Anime-Export. $84 at Angolz, $102 (shipping included) on eBay and over $100 plus shipping everywhere else I could find it. I don't know if HLJ got sick of them after getting stuck with all those model kits, but I couldn't find the MB Gokins on their website. Any cheaper sources out there?
