Fans of Force Five Giant Robot Anime Rejoice! Jim Terry Productions is finally releasing a complete, official DVD release of the FORCE FIVE Anime that aired in various Markets in 1980-1982! sample promo: jimterryproductionservices.com/index.htmlto be honest, although there in English, i wish for Grendizer they make an Spanish audio option because that is the one i use to see after Mazinger Z and Great mazinger shows where over but it was hard to see it or listen because most of the time the show would be interrupted by some political bullsh*t audio or program. but still this is pretty awesome.

Everyone needs to stop right now and just follow the thread i have linked below. I am almost ready to pull the trigger on this but a lot of info is being discussed and updated on toyboxdx by the toyboxdx and collectiondx guys who have knowledge of exactly what is going on. I have no affiliation with any of it. READ ALL THE DETAILS SO NO ONE GETS ANYTHING WRONG. I can guarantee you that this will be a lengthy discussion as things progress and more info comes out. Seems about as legit as I would prancing around the streets in a trenchcoat with wristwatches hanging all over it's interior.

If they actually happen I'll pick 'em up in a heartbeast...but this website looks REALLY dicey to me...like any geocities site from the old days that wants $130 blindly...I'll be happy to see it if it happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would rather find the original animes. The Force Five stuff is fun, but in reflection I would rather go for the source material. Guess I should try and find that.
Besides, this feels sketchy.

why is it, that everything that seems to be re-released from the time when toys were real toys, is sketchy ?It's always pre-order, and at a price meant to rape us super robot fans ? I would love to get the original release of force five, without the good parts removed, but don't wish to sell a kidney to get...or pay the pre order money, and lose out on it !!!

It's because this is for such a narrow, niche market (even though there are quite a few of us) that between licensing and production costs plus some general fans just being cheap or not following through its almost not worth it for a company to even think about doing something like this. It's like telling your investors that your company is walking on a tightrope with no safety net.
Look at Shout! Factory DVD company for example, most of their stuff has been successful but they never got past volume one of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors because they supposedly couldn't crack 15,000 or sales to break even. Then Warner Brothers majorly effed up Silverhawks volume one and cut features so that volume two barely made it out and had to be purchased through their made to order (basically professional DVD-rs) program and it was just terrible even though I was glad to get the rest of the series.
A more modern and popular example would be the poor job that was done with the new thundercats revival which is dead and will go unfinished.
It's just an extremely tough market because there are too many toys and other products, along with our real world expenses to guarantee a success upon release. I know, I wish it was better too.

That and the fact that most companies don't want to mess with anything they can't make a lof of money with, and with minimal effort, and this is most especially true when dealing with any large media conglomerate. It's not a matter of breaking even, it's a matter of "can we make a HUGE margin.". If the answer is only maybe, then it's on to the next thing. Letting something development over time, or taking a risk to achieve full potential rarely fits in with the money agenda of corporate culture these days.

Exactly. Good follow up to my "small company" points Xiombarg.
