Wow, I can't believe people skipped over this on Ebay!!!!! A complete and actual Voltron GB-72! I got it for $99! This is so cool. I have always wanted the smaller die-cast separating version, but didn't want to shell out the near $400 for the only other one on Ebay that has the box. I also couldn't catch the one from the Morphy's sale either. From pictures one would think it is a basic GB-73, but on the back it has all wheels, and it isn't the new cheap Taiwan one going around for $20 on Ebay either. I thought for sure the bidding would take off at the end, as I have seen these without the box or sword go for $200 plus. Now I just need to contact the guy on here who repros the boxes, as he had a similar repro box for the larger version advertised for this here on RJ 6 months or so ago. Maybe he could make me one that is sized to it. I will post up picks of the back here in a bit.

Here is the back picture. All the wheels are there, not mock ones like the typical GB-73. So awesome. Now as you all know, my main poison are Godaikins and i am in the process of gaining them all. So......just to throw the bone out there, I may sell it (at some point) or trade it for the right Godaikin, if I decide to. So I will be courteous and let you all know first if and when I decide to let this little gem go. But for now, very awesome Ebay grab.

That's not the Popy, it's a Taiwan knock-off. The Popy has chrome hatch in the pelvis ship where this one has a sticker. Also the wheels are very thin whereas the Popy has "deep dish" wheels. There is a second Taiwan version which better replicates the Popy, but this one you got is still neat. I would have picked it up if it had the box.

This would be the more common version.

Ah ha! Thanks for the pics. Now why did you pee on my parade? Dammit, I thought it was the real thing. I am now going to have to bash my own face in for this Epic Fail On a lighter note, could you copy that box for me since you waved such a huge picture of it in my face to taunt me?

Don't consider it an "epic fail". I've seen many cool KnockOffs that look almost spot-on as the real thing. Even though KnockOffs exist, I'd like to own some if I can't get my hands on the real thing. Consider this as a hint that you'll someday soon score the real thing when you least expect it. zozo-mag

I agree. I would be happy with the KO in the picture above.

Okay, so it arrived and it looks great, but has 1 flaw. The red and Yellow legs of the Sea Team are the same direction, so you can't put the team together. You can form Dairugger/Voltron, the other teams, and of course take it all apart, but you can't form the Sea Team. The little slide out vents on the legs pop out the same direction. You can't switch them either as I took it apart to check, and each side of the interior of the leg is made a certain way. So the person that owned it before got a factory glitch. I have checked the GB-73 and the new little Taiwan version, and unfortunately I can't use them for parts either as they are also all specifically designed a certain way. So here is my next question to you all. Does anyone have a junker GB-72, or GB-72 parts around? Does anyone have any contacts not in the U.S. that may be able to locate one or parts? Please let me know ASAP. I would appreciate it kindly and thank you.

FYI many if these KOs (both modern and vintage) suffer from permanent flaws/errors like this, meaning either the factory accidentally messed up when KOing them and they didn't fix it, or they just rushed the production/assembly and missed the errors altogether. I have had some pretty bad ones over the years. The kingdam three in one (diaclone diabattles KO) always comes with two of the same fist and they never stay in in robot mode.
The main point is that the factory didn't care because they felt most people buying them either wouldn't notice or wouldn't care (or the toys wouldn't last that long anyways), and as long as the toys sold the factory could care less.
I swear sometimes it was done intentionally to show the toy had a "difference" from the real thing, or just a major screwup like I stated.

Yep I agree on that. They do rush the KOs sometimes. I have been running around the internet and Ebay, and maybe have a few leads, but again any help here will do. Thanks again.

Is the new one you got the same box as the Armoured Union one pictured above or different? Because that is a different bootleg than the one in your first post. Your leg issue is because they used the left leg mold for both sides and just changed the color of the plastic insert bits. You'll notice that both legs have the square insert parts when the red one should really be rounded in shape.

Yes the one in the box I found is just like the boxed one above, and is complete.
Though, the first one I bought/pictured looks like a GB-72 and has all the correct Popy GB-72 Voltron colors, not to bright of paint, and actually has the Dairugger XV decals on each vehicle. The second one I bought is very similar, but the paint appears brighter: Ebay item number 271138186332. Here is a picture too. We'll see once it arrives the condition vs. the one I have. At least I can tell this second one I bought has the correct leg piece for each side. I can't tell if the 2nd one has the Dairugger decals and am awaiting a response from the owner to see if it has them or not. I'll keep you posted as we go.

OK, yeah, that's the better bootleg and it should have the decals - mine does anyway.
