I said I would not get this since I have enough Getters unless I held it in my hand and it was worth it. I never thought I would see one in person, then I walk into a local comic shop...$135 later here it is. It's my favorite of the bunch. Now I have to track down a Black Getter for a good price. Crap... I would love to see them tackle Dragon or Getter 2.

Definitely my top 3 figure of all time! Getter One is cool but Black Getter is my cup of tea I want a second one but can't really find a decent price. I only have the Sentinel Getter 1 and the newly acquired Metamorforce Getter 1. Been on the hunt for a black getter. What would be a decent price in US dollars?

I got my first one for around $120 and thats the standard price for non-preorders. Now it hovers around $200 on sites like ebay which I would never recommend anyone paying that amount for. Try to look for stores within your country so the shipping won't destroy you. Even $140 total is kind of steep in my opinion. OR you could wait and hope for a reissue one day. I think its definitely possible that Sentinel would do so. The only thing that I am willing to pay a premium on is DX Chogokin Macross line as these things are so damn hard to get. EDIT: PM sent

The are almost identical, other than the colors, head, and a couple of small changes in the arms and legs. The price upon release was the same for both. Aftermarket prices fluctuate a lot. Hi Gang, here's a quick look at Sentinel X T-Rex 02 – Black Getter One and 03 OVA (Red) Getter One. I was totally on the fence with this, but after hearing a lot of good things about it and seeing how high the price has shot up on secondary markets, coming across one still at SRP was too good to pass up. The matte finish really looks great. Getter Wing! Wires inside the cape make poses look more dramatic! Sharp points! Getter Tomahawk Double Tomahawk Getter Beam removable cover. Getter Beam! One downside for me is the belt is made of some sort of soft material. I don’t mind since it prevents the upper section from scratching, but I can’t help but wonder if it will become sticky over time? Comparison with the Aoshima Black Getter One. Display base Optional smaller clips for the claw on the bottom of the base. Some notes -Sentinel Black Getter One weighs roughly 234 Grams with the cape on and 221 Grams without. Aoshima Black Getter one is 429 Grams without the cape. -Diecast parts include mostly the legs, the internal joints and the torso ( I think) -Joint system is very well done! Extending joints add for more poseability, -Manual is a bit lackluster. Just one page? In black and white to boot! -That moving/expanding chest plate gimmick is a nice touch. -There's a really cool chain accessory for "linking" the two Tomahawks. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the image. I'll try to take a new image soon. FATAL FLAW ALERT!!!!![/color] DO NOT attempt to pry open the cover for the pegs so you can load the Black Getter onto the display base arm. It just won’t come off. I tried and after 3 attempts, the plastic shattered on me! And I was just using my bare fingers. Tsk…. Overall, not bad, the cape and great joints really made this stand out. A bit pricey but I think I got my money’s worth, considering I got this at SRP. But if I had to pay the crazy Ebay prices for this thing, no, I don’t think it would be worth it. Sentinel X T-Rex 03– Black Red Getter 1 Because this is a retool of the Black version, which had the scarf, the neck joint on this version has too big a gap if you look at it from the side. Luckily, it’s not that obvious from the front. Getter Wing The attachment is very different from the Black Getter One. This is how it should look like : SWITCH ON!! Getter Tomahawk! I love how it can pose almost like the TOP statues. Impressive. Double Tomahawk Tomahawk storage Getter Machine Gun Cannons Getter Beam! Optional “angry eyes” faceplate. Possible easily broken tab? Display stand can support the flying pose!! Comparison with the Aoshima Getter One. With the Black Getter One. With the SOC OVA Getter One Some notes: -The Sentinel Getters stand roughly 6” tall and weighs about 209 Grams without the cape. Aoshima Getter one weighs about 422 Grams. -Nice touch on making the colors slightly different. -Unlike the Black Getter, this one’s plug cover falls off too easily. It’s almost like nothing’s there holding it in place. Luckily the plug holds in position very well. Overall, I like this more than the Black Getter. The colors look great and the cape seems to suit it better than the big oversized piece on the Black version. I wonder if they will make Getters 2 and 3? Gold

Nice review, Gold!
Kinda weird that your Black Getter's buttplug was tight and unfortunately got damaged while trying to open.
Mine and the others that got reviewed before indicated that it was a bit loose and easily removable (easily-lost, rather) compared to Fatty Red's. I had to taped mine on just so I don't lose it.

Good review as always from Gold. Did you get em for the same price?? How much does one cost nowadays and what would you consider a good price for one. Thanks
Oh by the, did the weight or lack of diecast affect ur buying ??

Thanks Treatment, I guess mine was from an earlier batch? It really annoyed me to no end when the cover broke. On the opposite, the red comes off super easily, its pointless to keep it there. Thanks Jeeg, yes, I got them at the price of roughly 170-180 USD (Philippine Peso 6500 each roughly). Nowadays I think the Black is hitting the highs of $300? At least it was when I checked Ebay. The red is relatively stable as far as price goes. The lack of diecast wasn't too bad. The quality of the product is still there as far as engineering, and detailing go (just failed on the butt plug lol...). The diecast is around (lots of parts feel cold to the touch in an airconditioned room) but somewhat hollow (thin?) so the toy doesn't have the heft you would expect. Gold

Gold, would you choose this over the soc version?

The SOC version? I would choose this one over it for sure! It's more Anime accurate in terms of look. But this over the SRC version? That depends. Will wait and see when I get my hands on the SRC. Gold

I choose the SOC , just because it has more Die Cast! and good articulation... but I think the sentinel is more fun to handle

I think the SoC one is more like a hybrid between the Armageddon Getter 1 and the old Toei Getter 1 from 1974. Still bulkier than the old one, but pretty streamlined and robust to the eye. The Sentinel one in contrast is a bit wider, and fat overall, even though I think it is more anime accurate than the Bandai Getter Pros and Cons balance each other out anyway: Sentinel made an anime accurate Getter 1 with a flexible-poseable Getter Wing, but the figure is small and has practically no metal content. Bandai made a heavier, diecast-loaded Getter 1, which feels more solid and is also a bit taller than Sentinel's, but is a bit less anime accurate and has an awful cape, which falls off every time you sneeze near it. Personally, I like both

Looking at some screen captures of the Armageddon Getter I've come across on Google, the SOC is actually more anine accurate. I think the flexible/posable cape on the Sentinel gives it the impression of being more accurate. However, the sculpt is less accurate than the SOC's. Sentinel's Getter is definitely more manga accurate thou. }D

The "pill body" is more accurate in the Sentinel, but the head and legs of the SOC are more anime accurate . }D

Mhm yeah... not so much for the head, but the legs of the Sentinel Getter are too short in proportion to the rest of the toy to be anime accurate. The SoC Getter 1, actually, reminds me more of the Getter 1 you see at the beginning of Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo. Which seemed a bit more slender than the armageddon rendition. Pretty similar, only not so fat and "sausagey"
