I have had diecast cars and other toys for many years, pretty much since I have had robots.

I loved the Corgi Bond cars as a kid.... then I recall having a Batman boat. -distant memories.
The 007 Austin Martin was one of the best toys ever.

I was into the 1:18 scale die-cast cars a while back. I still have them as a matter of fact. My favorite was the Burago Ferrari F40 (red) and the Lamborghini Countach (Black). Forgot to mention that I also have the very rare Kyosho 1990 Nissan Fairlady Z aka 300 ZX Twin turbo (Red). Those Kyosho cars were very detailed and to my knowledge they still are. It's been a while since I've seen one.

Jouef was another great vintage diecast car company and AutoArt does a lot of the mid market high end currently.
I actually have a few of the large scale tamiya collectors club high end cars in 1/12 and 1/10 scale as well.

I have a tidy collection of cast iron cookware. Does that count? Le Creuset and Cousances are my go-tos, but I'll go for a Staub if I can get it for a good price.

I have a large trunk full of Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Tomica's in their packages/boxes.
I also have some Franklin Mint, UT Models, BBurago, and Kyosho to name a few.
I even have some Russian (CCCP era) made civilian and military vehicles in their original boxes.

I am into 1/18 die-cast cars, I try to restrict it to my 20 favorite models at any one time and sell off whatever extra bcos of space constraint in my showcases. Kyosho, Autoart, Minichamps will be the main brands I buy. But now getting more detail and high end stuffs from BBR & CMC models.

Since we at the topic, for those who do not know or seen CMC models (A German die-cast model maker), here's my all time fave diecast 1/18 car model. CMC's Maserati Tipo 61 'Birdcage'. The car shape & design was one of my favourite since I saw it in a magazine during childhood days, Tipo 61 was an engineering innovation with its 'Birdcage' light weight frame design which lead it to win the 1,000km race of Nurburgring in 1960. CMC has made one of the best replication of this beautiful car. Every single detail/ material/ size was carefully thought off. Even the headlights has wirings, hoses has little clamps, dashboard readable meters with little glass covers etc. and it also has tons of functional/ playable parts.. I would even think that the high retail price of these CMC car is a bargain here , just that CMC makes real limited stuffs and they are long time out of stock already. Below are some pics I found online(Borrow just for ref), I would think the pics will tell a more detailed story:
