From your original list, I will recommend GX-31 and GX32. But being old school, I thought GX-31V (tribute to the POPY Volt in box) was more fun figure with the spring-loaded missiles as compared to GX-31 (I believe more anime accurate colors??)

I would also throw in Ideon, Dancouga, and Iron Gear. Honestly all big SOC's are damn good but their not all even. Zambot as stated looks good but it was a early attempt I also favor Daltanius in sturdiness over Daioja. I also believe people overlook Iron Gear a lot, it has such shelf presence and although not the most poseable its built like a brick. Gunbuster just looks awesome with an amazing transformation and the best display base out of all SOC's but can be a touch top heavy. As for your standard SOC's their all pretty good with your basic non-combining/transforming ones have the most metal % and honestly is the best representative of the SOC line. Sturdy lots of metal and don't cost an arm or a leg. Do yourself a favor pick up cheap a figure like Shin Mazinger or the OVA Getter Dragon and you won't regret it. I wish I could get those OVA Getters cheap. Never see them that way *-( I agree. I think you cannot go wrong with the non-combining SOC. They are all fantastic. I have yet to get an SOC that I was not in love with.

Of your list, I'd go with Voltes, but I would like to recommend Godmars and Daitarn 3, off the top of my head. Gold

In my opinion the Big-O GX-48 is a f**king amazing toy. Well sculpted, really sharp and beautiful, and fun to pay with.
You can get one on Mandarake or some other sites for like $100 even.

I wholeheartly agree with Gakken on Big-O. I have two of them and I NEVER buy duplicates.....
FYI, "Preowned" Mazinger GX 01R is on sale at Mandrake for around $75 USD few hours ago...

Yup. As I saw you guys' posts, I try to think of a stand alone non-transforming/combining SOC that can top Big O in my collection. I really can't think of any... I might favor some others over Big O just because I like those characters or anime show more. But in terms of toy quality, Big O is definitely top tier.
