Wondering if they'll be releasing a variant flame version like they did with series 1 & 2 God Phoenix? Maybe one with Ken standing ontop of the gatchspartan. I believe this was the signature weapon to finish off an enemy

This I'm not too sure. Fewture will be releasing a God Phoenix fire bird version.Maybe they will do something similiar for Gatchaspartan.

Of course it depends on how well the firebird variants for the Godphoenix and New Godphoenix sell... but I somehow doubt we'll see a similar variant for the Spartan. After all, in the show, the ship never had a firebird mode - it's "deathblow" attack mainly consisted of it being a glorified surfboard for Gatchaman Ken to ride on and slice through giant enemy mecha with his lightsaber...
Personally, I'd rather see Fewture re-release G-2, G-3 and G-4 as individual sets than another Phoenix variant...

Ok so I've got an update.
I may be able to do DHL international with insurance for $250 shipped!! Otherwise it is EMS with insurance for $278 shipped like I stated above.
Anyone ever use DHL for international (I've used them for domestic in the past) and is it reliable?

yes, I have used DHL before. very reliable and ship directly to your doorstep. but be careful when taxes are involved. these people tend to pay upfront and collect from you when they deliver the parcel to you. IF you believe that you should not be tax, or there is some mistake in taxation (such as error in invoice), too bad, either you pay them and get your parcel, or they take it back and return to sender or even destroy it. it happened to me once.

I went with DHL. It ended up only being a few $ less than EMS unfortunately, but at least I saved some $.
Package is supposed to be here today, I will update you guys if I get it.

Ok so I had to take a few days off from toys but wow. I am impressed. It is heavy as hell. Box is about twice the thickness I thought it would be (length and width were easy to guess at). I ended up at $270 shipped to my door, not bad at all.
This is my first "modern" high end toy purchase. I will need to get a good case for it before I can display it, and I will see how it fares with all the vintage over time before I commit to buying another modern toy. But if you are still questioning whether or not you will purchase, just do it. It's not loaded with gimmicks but this thing is really intuitive.
For anyone who has combined theirs, is there any chance the paint will chip? I only opened to inspect and check general function, I didn't have enough room to give combining them all a shot.

Mines ok when i combine, following the instruction closely should help you ward off paint chips. But if i could remember correctly, the real problem is putting the pieces togather, it can be quite tricky.

Oh... you'll HAVE TO combine that thing... that's 90% of the magic right there. I've combined and uncombined mine quite a few times and haven't noticed any paint chipping so the thing is pretty solid and well designed.
The trickiest part of the combo is when attaching #3 with #4. There's a 180 degree swinging latch underneath #4 that clasps onto a nook in $3 to secure the two components together, but BEFORE you do that, you need to use that same lapse to press a hidden "release" catch underneath #4 at the same exact time you combine #4 with #3 until the two ships lock into place with that satisfactory "click". Then you swing the latch back to pop underneath #3's nook to secure the attachment.

I actually bought the first release recently and I LOVE it. I keep it combined, no display stand, in my glass display case.
I have the unifive figure set from a while back that is displayed standing behind the ship. I am a little disappointed that the recolor comes with figures.
I honestly don't think I would buy another one of these JUST to get the figures. This recolor is more for the hardcore fan in my opinion.
I bought the first release because I wanted the crazy colors of the show and original popy toys, and while the hyper shoot is cool it is very plain color. They do look like a unified "team" in matching colors though.
The issue with this piece is that it is huge, expensive (and I got mine cheap and it was still a lot), and heavy. The shipping box alone is big plus toys box and foam tray is big, then you have the extra dead weight from the display stand.
If you haven't gotten one yet, my advice is to actually get the first one. I feel like this one won't sell well and it is a toy I would feel really weird having two of.

Yeah, I like the multicolor one too. I'd be interested in buying one now, but not at BBTS/ebay prices.

Sent you a PM. And this is NOT a toy I would want to buy off eBay, generally speaking.
