Theres lots of cheap KO gestalts on ebay at the moment, devastator, superion, menasor, even raiden. I'm sure they are horrible even if they look the part, anybody got any of these and can post a mini review/comments. I just wonder if they are even worth the minimal price or are they so bad you just want to bin them??

KO have been switching parts from all sorts of robots nowadays. if i can find one based from a picture. ill buy it and give a review. i usually open all my KO that i like. but the original transformers stays mint in boxes for me. i usually play with the KO.

To be fair to KO. Some of them are pretty unique. You have to look past the cheapness and legal issues and see it for what it is.
They are made in short stints. And once they are sold, they are not made again unless retooled and/or colored.
So this makes them very hard to collect and find once they are gone. There are some very interesting oversized and miniturized KO that I like. For instance a normal 8" headmaster sized Fort Max. I have seen a 4x large Skullcruncher alligator, Astrotrain, and Grimlock all in relatively close G1 accurate coloring.
The Winged Sludge dinobot is a clever and unique KO. There are other interesting ones out there.

i saw some bigger versions of the KO G1 devastator and bruticus. but were immediately sold out the other day here in the philippines. they were sold as gift boxes with all the smaller robots in vehicle form so no one noticed how big they can be when combined.
i could almost hit myself for not buying them immediately.

I second the idea that there are some very impressive KOs out there. I collect them myself and post pics/reviews here. Regarding the most common KOs on ebay right now, I'll summarize them like this: 1. G1 Optimus Prime, Decepticon Cassettes, and G1 Swoop - These guys are dead on. From what I've heard and seen they're 99-100% accurate. Virtually impossible to tell the difference. 2. Devastator, Superion, Defensor, Monstructor, Landcross, etc - These guys are very close in quality, but not quite good enough. The plastic is slightly cheaper and more likely to break. The stickers are not as good. Still, they're a decent substitute for the $9.99 price tag. 3. Menasor - Two of the Stunticons have been replaced with Technobots. Other than that, same quality as the sets from #2. 4. Sixwing and Sixbuilder - Larger size scale. Now the same size as the other merge teams. Same quality as the sets from #2. 5. Raiden - I've never touched the original, so it's hard to compare, but this set felt cheaper than the others, both in construction and in sticker quality. It might just be that the original was so poorly designed to begin with. I wouldn't call this set garbage, but I wouldn't put it on a shelf next to my other TFs either. 6. Minibot Keychains - Almost perfect replicas. Slight difference in color hue is noticable for some. Also, they have keychains attached to them. I cut mine off and it was a clean break. To the best of my knowledge, all other commonly released KOs circulating on ebay right now are utter garbage (including G1 Megatron and Jetfire).

I had the bigger Bruticus once, but I've never heard of an over-sized Devastator set. If you ever see one again, please let me know. I'd be happy to pay you a HEFTY finder's fee if the quality is good

Any idea what the quality was like? no die cast and the usual brittle plastic. some of the smaller ones has parts that are already detached. on other sightings. i saw a much bigger saber wings based from the robot master mold. ill take some pictures. some of the stores now dont like me taking pictures so i snap them secretly with my camera phone.

Interesting. Normally I'm a stickler for high quality KOs, but does Devastator look good? Are the colors and details done all right? If so, please do grab me a few if you can. And if you see any other over-sized G1 KOs, please let me know!
