Maybe we should start a thread, title would be something like - "Chogokin - good, bad and ugly"?

Seems like Bandai is investing more into their SRC line, since it's full of robots that never had a SoC incarnation. Some of them probably wouldn't stand a chance as a SoC.
But what's this about SoC Mazinkaiser!?

There will most likely be a SRC Mazinkaiser.

I think the figure will be general release, the Kaiser Scrander though I can see it being a Tamashii exclusive.

well, better this than franky imo. but third incarnation in the SOC line is pretty excessive. i'm torn whether to get this, having already owned the first two.

Yeah really, overdose of yamato space ship...
i really want on soul of chogokin line (space ship): Future Comet(captain future),Arcadia SSX (Captain Harlock),La Navette d'Ulysse(tri-parts) or Odysseus(Ulysses 31)
But that will never happen because Bandai doesn't care of oversea market....

Beautiful, but 100% unnecessary if you already have the GX-57 IMO. I agree with you guys, too many Yamatos released too close together. They should've gone with something else, even if it had to be a spaceship from the show. }|

Hmmm... No to keen on getting this, Its Yamato 2199 yes, but does not excite me like a super robot, I can live with a plastic model Yamato 2199 for 1/10 of the cost...

LMAO... Their MILKing the fans again... Really, there are other ones out there, rather than repeatedly put the same characters for sale... They do the same with Mazinger... Companies don't plan well. They just figure, let me throw another one out there and the public will buy it. Sad really.. Use the dollars to engineer something new... This type of thinking is what leads to the end of the series - it is becoming inevitable. ("We don't want to add dollars to a new design, so we will bust out the old molds, make minor changes, and sell it as NEW!" says the dumbass marketing mgr.")

It's almost a completely new mold plus the new Yamato series is doing extremely well add to that GX-57 sold out it's first few runs and it's a no brainer.

It's almost a completely new mold plus the new Yamato series is doing extremely well add to that GX-57 sold out it's first few runs and it's a no brainer. Almost everything you said works as to why release another SBS. Easy way to make a buck, if they don't have to make new designs. I like the new series and liked the GX-57. Re-releasing it should be a no brainier to make $$. I could understand if it were a new design, but looks the same. IMO slapping a GX-64 is kind of silly. Anyone able to tell what makes this different to GX-57 - size, metal, guns, etc?

Well the biggest difference would be the upper and lower bridges are totally different, the size of the Wave Motion gun barrel is different, detail like the panel lines are different, it has the fighter carrousel in the back which GX-57 lacks, a bunch of little things. It's like just looking at GX-57 with BPX-01, at first glance they look alike but side by side there's quite a bit of difference. The biggest distinguishing part is that GX-57 was based of the 2010 Yamato live action movie while GX-64 is based on the computer 3D CGI files used for the anime.
