Good luck with the sale. But it might make your toy more marketable if the photos are actually in focus.

Though this Golion has some discoloration it is a true Golion. On eBay a seller is selling what looks to be a nice one item #261249427855, but I see a few small issues. On the Red, Green, and Blue Lions, the teeth appear rounded and not sharp. Am I just seeing this wrong? If not, I hope the seller knows at his price, a few of us good collectors will catch this and not pay $1500 for a Popy Golion that really isn't true complete. If I'm wrong let me know. Thanks

I like yours, but can't swing the money. My wife would end me haha. Besides I have a true/complete Godaikin Golion thats close to near-mint. But again yours is nice.

I would buy this from you but the discoloration stinks. I am surprised you paid that much for it. I have seen some go for 600-800 on eBay.

In this condition, these do not sell on yahoo Japan for anywhere near this money.
The going rate for a dead mint one of these(yes the Original Japanese Popy box) with out any of the yellowing or without damage to the box, is maybe $1000 or so or LESS. I could understand if yours had not ever been opened ever, and was perfect. If it was some freakishly amazing example, and even then $1500 for a popy go lion seems a bit on the retarded side. No offense - but that is high for a mint in mint box one.
There are plenty of these in Japan and on Yahoo Japan's auction site that never clear ¥100,000 Including ones in a similar condition to this that just sit around get re-listed time and time again for a BIN of ¥35,000 - ¥70,000
Yours, while "complete" is certainly not mint, un-played with or with mint packaging.
$600 for this seems high. $800 is unrealistic.
This set looks like someone may have cobbled together loose lions from various sets, with an incomplete box set. The repairs to the box are questionable at best. The yellowing and mismatched versions of lions is a huge issue for premium collectors.
The box isn't great and the lions aren't great. It just isn't a perfect example of this piece. Sorry... it has a lot of issues. Is it cool? Yes... IS Go Lion awesome? Of course...
Most of the regular participants here watch thousands of auctions and Popy and Go Lion are key words people monitor daily. Should be pretty obvious as no one is jumping on it because of price and condition, as a few other members have already pointed out. Not to mention it went no where on eBay. Maybe you're just not willing to part with it?
You're issue is that you're offering a non-mint non-premium condition piece, at the absolute top of market auction DREAM price. And I say dream, as I've never seen a Popy Go-Lion in this condition sell for anywhere near this.
If you auction this on ebay you'll be lucky to go beyond $400 Godaikin Golion box sets appear regularly and in MIMB/Near mint set ups sell at $700 or less. Often around a $300-$400 average
The only differences are the box. Godaikins were shipped in Popy trays, and Bandai in NJ printed new packaging locally. Nothing was moved or re-tooled or touched. Bandai America got around some import taxes having items shipped as "Parts" in raw trays in super containers by sea. You can ask The old guy who owns Forbidden Planet in NYC about. He used to work there on the Bandai import side in NJ. He also looks like stan lee. Which is cool.
So - I'd only expect to add $200-$300 for "packaging pride" to this piece, as "Voltron" is the most common Japanese import here. And that's if the packaging doesn't have major issues.
I hope this helps you price more realistically, and gives some record on behalf of buyers and sellers to gauge the logic behind value. There are plenty of experienced members here, like KingBoy D, Admin1, etc. who have bought sold enough to know pricing. And they are ready to help you with advice and facts, VS opinions or haggling.
Good luck with your sale and if I or anyone else can help - let us know.
It does sound like you've got some interested parties, if you can be realistic on your price.
AND I am absolutely not trying to come down on you and this piece - but the price is double, to triple it's value. I am sorry for the long post, but I felt it needed some explanation and detail.

I agree with Sean (diceone). I did not chime in sooner because people usually get very defensive when you question their pricing, and they consider it as a personal attack. But since the issue was already raised by a few people, I guess its worth commenting so that you can see its not one or two individuals who are trying to maybe get a steal from you. I also spoke to a few others behind the scenes, and all are in agreement that you are over-valuing this. If you want to truly gauge the market for this, simply start an ebay auction at $1, but just set a reserve to protect yourself. Even if it does not meet the reserve, at least you will see how much interest there truly is. Regardless, good luck with your sale.

Iv'e gone ahead and removed my listing here as not to lessen the value of the item. I have three of these and this is not a mix matched set and the lions are in great condition maybe not brand new but extremely nice except for the chrome on one of the tails all the chrome is great. Maybe the pics aren't showing what it really looks like in person. Here is the most recent sale of a golion. Its sold for 125000 yen or roughly $1250.00. Now if this was bought using a proxy service and sent to the states then you can add easily another $200-$250.00 bringing it to $1450.00 or more. page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n127947158 Here is another one that has an asking price of 198,000 yen or $1989.00. I think that is high only because the lions dont have the chrome joints but the box looks near perfect. Plus add about $300.00 if using a proxy and sending to the states japamart.com/auctoolitem.php?url=http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e138381348According to what I see here and what I have seen sell in the past few months on yahoo I think your numbers are off and these are valued higher then stated above. That being said if someone has a perfect mint one with mint box for the prices you are stating please let me know because I would love to have it. I had a perfect one that I sold about 7 yrs ago when they were selling for a lot less. The piece looked like it was on a toystore shelf in 1980. I regret selling it and have't seen as nice a piece come up for sale but I am looking and will get one when one does come available. Right now I own 3 of these and all sold at over $1100.00 plus shipping and proxy. Someone else was bidding against me so they valued them as much as I did I was just willing to spend 5 bucks more.

Your link is to a dead mint, with still stapled accessories, un-handled set with PRISTINE white styro and excellent box. It is the case in point scenario of the price range I stated.
Your Go Lion is miles away from this condition, but your price is actually higher than this auction.
It is kind of a common understanding, that the whole point of selling items here is to not tax this community, like the middle-man fees, double shipping etc. It only inflates your items value even more unrealistically. If I have to use a middleman to get to you - sell it on yahoo japan or ebay, and be done with it.
The idea of this community IS to help each get items at a fair or even discounted price. I'm not trying to head beat the people that have helped me countless times with information, resources and opportunity.
In short: We all know how to use ebay and Yahoo japan. Please keep in mind - we're all here to HELP each other, NOT exploit one another.
Good luck with your sale.

Got it.
Edit Well that one that sold for 125000 yen turns out as it was stated in the auction has repairs to the box.It is not mint unplayed with condition as stated in this thread. A friend of mine bought it and it is in played with condition and he sent me pics of the box, it has tape on all the corners and a split that has been glued together. I checked the auction and it says there are repairs so it was stated and it still sold for 125000 yen. After seeing the actual pics of the box our boxes are in almost the same condition. The only difference in the lions is the yellowing on mine which I have now washed and everything is white white. My weapons are in brand new unopened still stapled condition chrome is great. Now that I've washed the yellowing I would actually rather have mine than the one that sold. There were a lot more splits on that box than mine and once Im one restoring my box it will be very nice.
