Just saw this to turn any "detolf in display base" : "If you're looking for a way to easily fit Not Bruticus in your Detolfs, go down to any store with an "As Seen on TV" section and pick yourself up a Spicy Shelf. Double stack it, using thr taller legs, and extend it out to fit the interior of the Detolf. You can then drop the shelf enough to fit this bad mofo. Plus, if you single stack it with the tall legs, you can drop the shelf to fit Metroplex and still have a shelf for deluxes beneath!"

Damn that's beautiful! As much as Devastator has been redone by everyone, I would like to see Warbotron's take at it.

(I changed my last post)Now there is a KO (lower price, better paint, quality and QC ?) :
WUKONG is coming with a 4th Party Bruticus (KO of Warbotron) :
IMO, I do not tease KO of 3rd party companies due to the effort putted by the original Brands (Warbotron here, or MMC versus KO Hexatron) But these KOs are far from the cheap KOs (oversized with crap plastic) and give improvements, + accessories, etc... A lot of young companies start to copy to learn before going original... -> history told, as an example, after 2nd WW, Japan products were crap for other countries (made in japan aaaahhhhhh), but step by step, they learned and proposed hign quality products.
I know how much cost a production for just 1 toy of Warbotron limbs, and these KO are cutting Warbotron business about going 2nd run... Some can think the same about 3rd Parties versus Hastak, but in this case, it's not the same : 3rd P products are not in the same retailing business/market than Hastak, not the same quantities produced. And sometimes it boost the sales : "thank you Perfect Effect" say Hastak business staff about Combiners Wars products.
What's your opinion on this case ?

I have no problem with these 3P figure being KO'ed. IMO, it's all part of the risk they are taking. These companies take action by not supplying future products to any place that sells KO's of their figures. Bottom line is that a lot of these figures are way overpriced. The fact that WuKong can KO these Combaticon figures, and make them pretty much exact replicas, and include extra accessories and then offer them at a reduced price and still make a profit is saying a lot. A full set of this Warbotron can be ordered for $300 at TF-Direct. That's a $200 saving. I understand that some collectors are PO'ed by this because they spent $200 more. When Emgo was doing reviews of these figures, he kept complaining about the really poor instructions and the unnecessary comic book which was poorly translated and the useless tech spec card. All of which a lot of people felt were throw in so that the company can charge more, or at least it's what this 3P company was doing to justify the price they were charging.
I saw those reviews by Ben and it does looks just as good as the original. These aren't cheap KO's with reduced parts and cheap KO plastic. In addition, they aren't poorly assembled either. KO companies like WuKong might be using a better factory and is pushing out a better overall product. Some 3P (XTB and KFC) could use better factories. The QC problems coming out from those factories on their products really tarnish their reputation.

3d Scanning the original is now the basis : you just have to retool a bit the meshes and voilà ! You save preproduction cost, so you lower the retail price... It's not a matter of 3P companies charging too much the toys. But offering accessories is still a nice feature.

Well, I understand that they are saving some money on preproduction by not paying the designer and not having to go through trial and errors to make sure things work. But the KO factory still have to recreate the molds and redo all of them runners to mass produce. Another way for 3P's to fight off KO's is to lower the price of the additional runs and future runs. So that there is no incentive for the customer to buy the KO version. Yes, it would piss off the initial group of collectors that purchased them at the higher price. But to me, that's the price you pay for having things first. Just like video games and video game consoles, initial price is high, then subsequent releases become better, smaller, more effiecent and cheaper to the customers. But I guess, for most 3P's, once a project is done, it's off to the next one.
The only thing annoying with KO's is when retailers try and rip off customers by trying to passing them off as originals. At least with WuKong here, they have their own box, new accessories and slight difference in color. And also with the new KO MP, where the company uses the TakasaTony, so that the customers know they are buying the KO version.
