wow!!! sorry to hear what happened... i never had that experience with HLJ, and i use SAL for shipment really? how many orders have you received? what's the destination? usa? maybe its longer to the US and therefore subject to more abuse. but if you are a seller, you know that the packaging as shown is inadequate for protection

Wow. That box is beat to sh*t. Are the toys at least fine? I've bought and had shipped items from HLJ via SAL (about 20) and the most damaged one got was a creased edge. Interior boxes were fine. I will gripe that lately they haven't put any bubble wrap or cushioning in their items.
They ship to Canada's east coast for my stuff.

Sorry to hear that bro. I have ordered from HLJ at least 25 times and so far, everything has arrived in good order. But by the looks of that outer box, your items must have had a rough time in shipping even if they did place some bubble wrap/cushion. It looks like the box went diagonal in the conveyor line then got smashed big time I am glad your robots are in good shape though.

Yeah, I think this occasion is more due to bad luck than HLJ screwing up. It really takes a lot of beating to get your outer box torn and ripped like that. No bubble wrap would have completely saved those toy boxes. Probably just lessen the damage a bit. I ordered from them a lot, more than 20-30 times. While things occasionally has some minor flaws, their packaging is not that bad. Not the best, but decent, be it SAL or EMS.

I wouldn't blame this on HLJ. Look at the other box. Even if you had styrofoam or bubble wrap, the tox boxes would still be messed up. Might not be as crushed but still, it would be crush. I don't know what part of the USA you are from Junktea1 but your post office must hate delivering boxes of stuff. They trash the box. I have ordered from HLJ more than 10 times, and have yet to get any damage boxes and Oakland Ca isn't the nices of places in the USA.

Now im thinking twice if i should get anything from them too. 4-6 Weeks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I live in So. Cal. So no one thinks bubble wrap or other padded cushioning would have saved the contents? True. Maybe... a bigger box perhaps Looks like someone either stepped on it or US customs opened it to examine the contents. I don't know. The actual robots are intact, but I sort of like having a good condition box even though I may actually display these items at a later time. The question is... what will HLJ do about it? I don't mind ordering from them as they have a lot of variety and really good prices, but this is the 2nd package I received from them that got beat up. Luckily my Getter Liger was in better shape, unlike Revoltech Megatron. I really still want to acquire a Zambot from them, an Arcadia, Great Maz. is on the way, and I'd like to get one those Destron G-Shock watches.

as has been said the damage is more bad luck, HLJ use adequate packaging, that box looks like its been through hell, even the best packaged boxes can get damaged. maybe they will help you with this, are the packages insured? the PO surely compensates for this type of damage which is their fault.

Well, I have seen this many times in my packages from HJL. I did stop ordering from them for a year or so hopeing that they had improved, but they have not. I received my SOC King Joe yesterday and it appeared in a box almost identical to the one you received (all beat to s***). I guess I have had about 25+ orders from HLJ and out of all those only about 5 looked like this. That is 5 too many considering how much these toys cost.
What bothers me the most, is that they just do not care at all when you complain to them. I have complained about the packaging, and more often, I have complained about their ordering system. However, I very rarely get a responce (and if I do, it is just "you are SOL"). I am in the same shape as you, I want to continue my business with them, but they need to try a little harder to keep thier customers happy.

I'm just going to finish my orders through August then. Maybe the Zambot, I'll cancel it because I really want a good condition box.

My GFF Metal Composite arrived recently with creased corners because the HLJ box was a bit small for it. Usually, the smaller items I've gotten from HLJ have arrived in good shape. It is awful when you spend so much on an item and it gets messed up on transit.

Now, my concern if they charge high on their shipping. junktea-bro, SAL doesnt come with insurance and tracking right?

Sorry to see them badly damage junktea1. It happened to me long time ago. I used to be one of HLJ's regular cutomer 5 years ago. That was back in 2002. I canceled all my order and stop buying from them after they screwed up my toys three times in a row because of poor packaging. And the worst thing was, they don't want to replace it. There reason is the toy itself was not damage only the box. Most of there packaging doesn't have enough bubbles and sometimes the toy box is bigger than the packaging box. You know what's going to happen when they do that right? Well for me as a collector I want my toys and the boxes to be in good condition. That is why I always pay premium shipping. But you still end up getting bad products? I can no longer afford my toys getting damage like that. No more HLJ for me since then.

I guess even though I e-mailed them, they are likely not going to do anything, except say the toys are intact and ignore it. I read their policies online and it mentioned: " Problem Resolution. HobbyLink Japan is committed to customer service and will promptly address any customer claims of shipping errors, damage, defects, missing items, etc. if we are contacted within 10 days of delivery at trouble@hlj.com. Missing shipments are also replaced or refunds issued if our designated delivery period passes without your taking delivery of your order. Because we're committed to helping you, under no circumstances should you ever contact your credit card company or PayPal to dispute charges from HobbyLink Japan, particularly without contacting us first. We will solve all genuine customer service problems through refunds, reshipments, discounts or whatever else it takes to reach a fair solution to the problem, and that's our promise! But it's your job to tell us a problem has occurred. As such, not only will we vigorously contest any credit card "chargebacks" (refusals to pay) filed by customers or complaints with PayPal, but such customers may be blacklisted from using our service, meaning we will accept no further orders from them, ever. We also share information about blacklisted customers with other online merchants offering similar merchandise." I did file a paypal dispute, but not a claim. I also sent them an e-mail regarding the situation w/pics & presently awaiting a response. Can anyone recommend another site? Blister appears to have a lot as well, but not sure if they ship internationally.

I don't like when they mentioned.
"We also share information about blacklisted customers with other online merchants offering similar merchandise"
More sounds like violating customer privacy and when they said.
"Filed by customers or complaints with PayPal, but such customers may be blacklisted from using our service, meaning we will accept no further orders from them, ever.
After what happened? blacklisted me or not, I don't care. I won't buy from them anyway.
GOOD LUCK on your complain junktea. I just hope you'll get your replacement or refund.
