I'm hoping the inner frame or more specifically the inner torso where the train inserts to form the arms is at least die-cast. I think if it isn't that might a point of contention for stress issues to arise overtime as folks convert gaigar to form gaogaigar due to playability/transformation wear and tear. Doesn't have to be completely die-cast just a hollow frame to provide additional support would be ideal but who knows maybe Bandai is putting up some magical high grade new PLASTICLOY that allows manhandling

Weren't the shoulders also turned into diecast on v2? I'm sure they were diecast, but I can't remember if V1's were diecast too... }D Hmm I missed that, I'll have to double check when I get home. Gold

I'm really starting to get forgetful, here's the list of added diecast parts for the V2 CM's GGG from the old review. -Lots of newly added diecast parts --Gaigar's shoulders --Gaigar's lower legs --Gaigar's knees --Gaogaigar's biceps (on the Linear Gao) --Gaogaigar's Feet (on the Drill Gao) --Diecast Pistons on the Dividing and Gattling Drivers Thanks for reminding me, ChogokinAbdul. That said, it will be interesting to see if Bandai's SOC can match this. Gold

Since reading your review I am still in search for the brave gokin gaogaigar second version! How much was the weight of it? Gold

ChogokinAbdul, I only measured the Ver2 Star GGG back then and it'ss 900 Grams (first release Star GGG was 700 Grams). So I'd say Ver2 ordinary GGG is roughly 600-650 Grams? I'll have to dig it out and check when we get the SOC GGG Hi Mecha, hmm... tough one. the Gaogaigo was a limited release. It's limited to 400 units production. So I really can't say how much it'd go for nowadays, back in the day it ran for about $250? One seller on Ebay has it for $680?!?!?! Yikes... Gold

Oh, the hands for transforming is so tiny, the other is way too big and the arms look a litle too long (the reason why i don't like SRC gaogaogar). Still think Cms's GGG is better with overall look. Beside 26cm is huge, it can't stand with Cms's trinity in my showcase. Seem that i'll pass this one. It's a shame, i waited for a Soc version of GGG for years but in the end it's not something that i really want to buy.
About gaigo, I think there are still some of it at some chinese shop with crazy good price, under 200$ (no one love gaigo ?), try to search for it through taobao or some websites like that. I even can find some limited DX GGGG there. It might be second hand but the quality is very good, almost like new. Got a BR 03 GGGG and it feel like no one touch that box for years, the toy's condition is just too perfect.

Well, the transforming hands are anime accurate, if we consider the transformation/combining scenes. Besides, the hands continuously change size in the show, not too much but they do, and I know Bandai overdid them a bit (talking about the articulated ones here) but it's not too bad-looking if you ask me. Otherwise, just keep the transformation fists in, problem solved P.S. Welcome to RJ

Well, being a design from 1997, I can certainly imagine being hard for you to like GaoGaiGar. Classic SRs, as you said many times, all had that familiar look, those funky colors, the music that played during combinations/transformations, the names of the attacks... it all ended around the mid-80's, pretty much when Transformers started. And that's a whole separate universe, just like the Brave series in the 90's are something completely different. Still super robots but... of a different kind. I don't know Baron. You could always try to picture it next to Daltanious, maybe. "Like father, like son", or something like that. Otherwise, if you don't like the look, just pass this one.

It's the shoulders I take it? I'm a big fan of GGG but I hate the awkward shoulder design. Sort of wish they went with something else. Gold

Gold I like the Lion on the chest it basically ends there LOL.the train shoulders are very silly,I dont like conventional vehicles stuck on toys other than Dairugger really, hate the colors black/gold.It just doesnt fit into my collection and the designs I like,I just cant force myself to like it.Mechanical Flash said it best,it s not like funky 70s. And when Transformers came out,it killed the classic SRs I like and influenced everything thereafter.Im not a robot collector in the general sense, what I collect is very specific to my tastes or Id have shelves of unrelated robot toys,Id hate to collect like that, you know unfocused.

Devastator-Gar? Oh my.
Well yeah, GGG's shoulders are probably the weakest part of its look. They had to attach vehicles to GaiGar and frankly, it could have been a lot worse. Look at other Braves: Exkaiser needs anime magic to cheat with proportions, or it'd look f**ked up. Great Might Gaine does look like a clusterf**k of trains and other things... GGG is not too shabby honestly.
