just want to share this pictures made by geetar from the transformers philippines boards found here. transfansph.proboards24.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=medical&thread=1183832020&page=1here are the pictures. im back with another repaint. this time, the favorite villain in the TF movie, BARRICADE! we all know hasbro sucks on adding detailed paints on their figure... so i did repaint the black portions again as what i did to my previous repaint, BUMBLEBEE. BEFORE: here is the bad-ass BARRICADE sporting a new look. repainted FRENZY. awesome rivalry... thanks for looking!

Very nice. I wish they offered a slightly more expensive paint-up version that looked like this. I tend to not like toys due to the flat and undetailed paint.

Nice! Even though I prefer the clean, straight from the factory look I think these Transformers look real good with some weathering because of all the nooks and crannies these things have.

What a difference a bit of metallic paint makes to mechanical parts! Kudos especially for the Bumblebee! The only thing I could suggest is to give all the yellow parts thin glossy clear-coat... I think that'd help remove the "plastic" sheen and make him really look like a real car. Very cool projects!

mpchi you should post steps on how you do your wash, they work wonders. Any plans on painting those translucent bits? I skipped the translucent bits mainly because I don't have a matching green paint . Probably'll go back to it late. In terms of procedure, its very easy. Get some flat black enamel paint, and a bottle of enamel thinner. Dilute it around 1 portion of paint mix with 2 portion of thinner, so its very thin. Use some cheap brush and apply it all over to all panels. Brush on more if there are a lot of mechanical bits, like in the belly and armpit. Let dry. The use Q-tip dipping a little thinner, and smudge away, while wipe off excessive paint with tissue/paper towel as you go. You can always brush on some more paint in areas that need more paint and redo the smudging. When you got all areas covered and look the way you like, let dry. Then use a silver paint marker to touch up some edges, corners, highlight in areas you want to show some metal wear. Some finger smearing might needed in some areas. Thats all! Not much modeling skill is needed really, as I am no modeler myself. Haven't build a plastic kit for years.

Wow. If they looked that good at the store, I would already own the movie toys.
