Got mine today, wasn't expecting to see the mail lady today. I should've listened. I ordered through amazon (after canceling at BBTS to save a few $) and the soc box is a little dinged up. It's not bad but it's just annoying and could've been avoided if packed better. Not sure if I should try to exchange/return and order elsewhere or just deal with it.

That's too bad yours came damaged from Amazon. I too also cancelled my original order with BBTS and went with Amazon to get it a little earlier. I was lucky as while it wasn't securely packaged, I didn't receive damage to the box. I ordered a Zambot 3 from Amazon and one of the flaps had a tear in it that was at least 1/4 deep. But I decided to just deal with it and felt it was a hassle to exchange/return it. I started watching the Daitarn 3 anime. I've watched 2 episodes so far and I'm enjoying it. The artwork has a more "gritty" sketchy feel to it compared to traditional super robot anime of the time. And the main hero Banjo Haran sort of carries a James Bond swagger, action wise and female wise. I love getting to understand the legacy of my Soul of Chogokin by supplementing my experience with the original vintage anime.

looking at the brighter side, that would give a good excuse to toss out the box. prob make one feel saner and wont take up much needed and very expensive realestate in ones home.. you really have to compaRE possible profit of THE mib toy, or the rent of the space its taking up in your home for goodness knows for how long....years? decades?

Only catch is I currently don't have all my items displayed so the box would double as robot storage. Baby boy took my display room/man cave, hopefully we'll get into a hose soon.(wifey and I can't seem to agree on exactly where...)

I could use some advice on what kind of a stand to use for the Daifighter. The front landing gear is a pain in the ass to fold and unfold so I'd rather display it unfolded (which is just an excuse to keep it at hand so I can pick it up and wave it around while making wooshing noises). And I mean something better than this.

+1 Only thing is l'd email them first if they have any in stock. I remember some members on Macrossworld having trouble with getting their orders shipped out because of supply problems. That was a while ago though.

Are the flightpose stands secure? It looks like the item can easily fall off or something. What secures the plane to the edges of the stand?

I just realized, looking at some pictures, a simple plexiglass cube (or an arc) would do the trick, really. I wonder where I could get one.

Go to the store though and they should have a ton of stuff on hand. They have a website as well, it's a national store. Lots of little acrylic and plexi cubes and in colors also.

Watched Chachipowers box opening video of this and he's 100% correct. There's nothing like opening up a SOC especially the higher priced ones. There may be more "higher end" stuff out there but none give you the confidence of opening up a SOC and knowing it will be pretty much perfect with very few if any QC issues. Daitarn is such a beautiful looking figure and holds up well for a design a few years old.

Guys, the gold crest is really just the plastic yellow crest plated chrome with clear yellow paint o er it giving it a greenish hue. The gold can be taken off to leave chrome and then the cbrome would also have to be removed. Youl probably be left with a crappy looking crest. You can always sand it down and then use plastic ploish to get rid of sanding marks. A lot of work though. What I did was swap the crest with my GX-53 and it looks awesome now. Thats if you happene to have tbe original one. I have a pic on my rocketpuncharmy facebook but i cant seem to link here via phone

Since I don't have a GX-53 to salvage a crest from, I'm thinking of recasting the crest from my GX-65 and then painting it to match the gold on the body. Or maybe we can get Bourno to do a run.

Just got myself a GX-65 from the flea market at a decent price so here's my video review on the differences versus GX-53 =)
