Cm's has had more than 1 bad release. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong character to cut corners on. Had it been something like their Tekkaman, not many would have cared so much. But screwing up world wide known UFO Robot Grendizer?!!! That was just corporate suicide! }D

Yep, The Brave Gokin Barattack and Mechander DX Version Technical Gattai Set comes into mind, I agree the fans of these mechas are not as numerous as The Grendaizer ... They dont come cheap so the fans expect spot on products ...

It has always seemed to me that CM has hit one success for every 3-4 failures. Am I wrong?

That would be fair enough ... What was their last successful release? seems like a long time ago...

is true we are missing a lot, but perhaps they didn't get much attention? 1. SRC Cybaster: Sadly i don't see him been made, Bandai at the time did announce making a composite ver Ka. of Cybuster which in a sense it looks like an SRC so there is no reason to make one at all. Granted is not made of diecast but it does well for what it is plus it can still transform into his phoenix mode as oppose possible the SRC version might have not. 2. SRC DGG-XAM1 Dygenguar 3. SRC DGG-XAM2 Außenseiter Both Dygenguar and Aubenseiter are not SRC but actually there SoC version use as display for it to show how some of the OG ones look with them, there was never intention on making SRC of them. plus it makes it a mute point on making them because at the time the SoC version of them was recently out. 4. SRC Battle Fever Robo: this was also the SoC version, Battle fever Robo has the size of an SRC and was use to promote the lines that some of the other Sentai's where to be made. 5. SRC Sun Vulcan Robo: perhaps he didn't get much of attention as they would expect maybe? 6. SRC Real Personal Trooper Type 1 R1 7. SRC Real Personal Trooper Type 2 R2 8. SRC Real Personal Trooper Type 3 R3 Im not surprise this guys haven't been made, there was that set done by Volks that had all 3 of them plus they could combine to make SRX, also it didn't help that people where expecting this guys to be made as a SoC than an SRC so perhaps many felt disappointment and lost interest. (including myself) 9. SRC Mazinger Weapons Set V.2: I still say this set should have come with there respective figure instead of another weapon set. True That the Jet Scrander is a weapon set but that one makes sense for any Mazinger Z variation that could possibly be made on the long run (like Shin Mazinger Z). 10. SRC Mazinger Photon Lab: as cool as it would have been to have the Photon Power Lab, it makes it kinda impractical to be made for a line that is meant to be much more affordable and accessible to everyone. Which this brings the question, is there a really big market for something like this to be made and how much people are willing to pay for something like this as well making space for it in there collection? assuming if Bandai where to decided to make every base for each of the SRC figures, now that would be nuts!! 11. SRC Shinken Gokaioh 12. SRC Nise Gokaioh 13. SRC Magi Gokaioh I would expect to see this as a some sort of weapon accessories for him, but in the series he gain so many forms that is just silly. 14. SRC Ryuseioh: wasn't the series kinda week as well? maybe that could have cause he didn't get attention for him. 15. SRC Gear Fighter Dendoh Kiba: hmmm maybe people where expecting him with Dendoh's Weapon set?. 16. SRC GaoFighGar 17. SRC Repli-GaoGaiGar Im not surprise that GFG has not been made even though GGGG will be out before him, GFG is not as popular as many think as cool as he looks, he is considered as the false king of braves after all. for repli-GGG, i can only see him been made as a TWE but i think people would feel cheated because his just an extremely simple recolor of the SRC GGG with the Star GaoMachine components. 18. SRC Tetsujin 28 FX: his not that popular in design...i don't even like it and i would prefer more they do the classic and the 80's version of the Tetsujin 28 than this tbh. 19. SRC Giant Robo: wasn't some license issues preventing it to make the guy? because dammit i want him NOW!! 20. SRC Big-O: i guess there not releasing this guy until the SoC version is fully sold out?. 21. SRC Geki Tohja: i considered this guy to be bland tbh, his not that impressive to me. 22. SRC DaiBouken: there was that candy toy model kit version of him that bandai did which it has almost the same range of articulation of an SRC but it can still transform into its separate parts. 23. SRC Brave Fighbird: wasn't the anime not that popular to begin with? 24. SRC Spacer (Grendizer): DAMMIT BANDAI!!! MAKE ALREADY THE SPAZER!! GRENDIZER NEEDS ITS TRADEMARK!!!! I notice CM's gets quite a bit of hate for 1 bad (albeit really bad) release but very little forgiveness for some really amazing stuff they've given us in the past. I've seen some really really bad QC from Fewture and they get a pass and people lining up to spend $500 each time. The difference between the 2 is that CM has a higher chance that it will screw up an iconic and recognizable character that is as simple in design elements that it should be somewhere around Bandai standards while Fewture goes and makes there own take on the character which gives them in a bit more of liberties. In other words, Fewture might have some issues with there design style, but CM is always screwing up simple ones to do. The only occasion that i hear CM doing nice for an iconic Character would be those that has magnet joints like Jeeg standards (since the CM Jeeg becomes apart which is its biggest advantage, literally outshine every other CM works and any other companies take on him by a mile), other than that they will always screw up something.

Can't really agree on the GaoFighGar popularity comment above. GaoFighGar is so famous that S.H.E. made it as a Perfect Final Fusion figure (but not GaoGaigar), Kotobukiya made it in their hybrid-gokin line, Kotobukiya also made a perfect final fusion transformation resin kit of it at 1/144 scale that rivals the S.H.E., Yujin made a Master Action giant combiner figure of it (but not GaoGaiGar), and also made it in other scaled figures. Yeah, GaoFighGar is pretty popular indeed. }D

Yeah, GaoFighGar is pretty popular indeed. }D Which all of those didn't do so well and quite low quantities of them, although indeed it had a lot of figures done to him it doesn't really translate to his super popularity. His still not as popular as you might think in comparison to GGG and GGGG, by that logic because it had so many figures done to him then there should have been a big interest for the SRC GFG that was shown but instead it didn't happened. He just got push to the side and instead GGGG was shown and capture more attention to him than GFG. Kinda Disappointing really, I blame the mind set "first you see it you cannot undo it", Since GGG was shown for the firs time I think the minds of most people to recognize him as the true King of braves when Galeon is around, after all is what started it all. GFG is more of a slap to the face on replacing Galeon all of the sudden and then GFG just gets destroy easily (twice in a short period i think) and just gets replace and forgotten for the true King of Braves to be show which is GGGG. Thats why GFG has the "fake King of Braves" title, his not so memorable like GGG was and having the real Galeon making the true King of Braves it makes it even more awesome and more badass. heck even in the anime when GFG gets destroy is like no one really cared about it except just worrying about guy's safety. So yea GFG is cool and all but popularity wise his not to par with GGG and GGGG and if people are not attracted to the SRC GFG because of that then why invest on him at all? the most possible outcome its gonna occurs is the SRC GFG been made but for a TWE. Another theory i got which im hoping this is the cause of it, is that Shin Getter and Mazinkaiser where been made and they want to release GGGG before GFG just to make a reference to the SRWAlpha 3 game since those 3 where the biggest hitters in the game.

Woah... speaking of logic... why do you think companies made so many figures of it, and not GGG? Do you think they wanted to loose money? In that same train of thought, if it didn't sell well, then the GGG and GGGG had so much less demand (at least at the time the GFG figures and kits were being released), that those companies did not even bother to give them a shot (Kotobukiya did the GGGG). The so called Fake King of Braves title that I've never heard of before is funny thou. But the companies actions spoke by themselves back then. So yeah, GaoFighGar was pretty popular indeed. Unfortunately, these days the Japanese folks that dictate what character gets made, seem to be more interested in Hello Kitty, Crayola Robot, Mickey Robot, and General Frankie than on GaoFighGar. Well, count me out of that group. The SRC GGGG should be coming out soon, and it is pretty impressive for a lot of folks. I'm getting one, but it will not be a very important figure in my collection. No, it will be more of an investment - nothing important. The SOC GGG looks great so far, and I'm planning on getting one. But once again, it will just be a place holder for a future GaoFighGar. If that never happens, then it will also become extra money to purchase something else. }D

which again as i said, he is popular and had lots of figure done to him, but compare to GGG and GGGG his under them, which again by your logic that GFG had so many figures in the past then SRC version should have been a given but instead that didn't happen which they jump to GGGG and instantly it took off. Heck, if they are more interest in seeing a Hello Kitty, Robot Kantam and the Mickey Robot than GFG then it pretty much tells you how not so popular GFG is. The title of the fake king of braves is not so strange, in the SRW alpha 3 they made a reference to the remark of it XD.
As true and sad as it sounds what you say about the Japanese folks dictating what gets made because of popularity or demand there is not avoiding it, companies need to follow it, if a company does not follow what people wants they could get pretty much screw on the long run. As strange as it might sound, when i saw General Franky in the One Piece anime i was waiting for it to be made in some point either for a Chogokin or SoC line or in another diecast line by some other companies because he meets the criteria as needed.
- it has a big fan base. - his a combiner giant super robot. - it uses a shape-memory alloy called Wapometal. - it sports exaggerating elements with silly weapon attacks. - is piloted.
Now Hello Kitty is suppose to be an anniversary thing and ill never understand why in diecast as well been a robot with rocket punch gimmick, good thing that is on the Chogokin line not on the SoC. Same with the Mickey robot Combiner (not surprise there really, Disney characters are a big thing in Japan) however i wonder if this is the suppose rumored concept that Disney Japan had about making a Disney sentai show with Disney characters but america disney said no.
The Robot Kantam (the crayola robot as you call) is not so strange he got so popular as well, the show that was on it was very popular as well (ShinChan), people liked the Robot Kantam show when ever Shin Chan would watch it that even the creator had some ideas to make it like some OVA episodes or a movie of Shin Chan watching the entire show of it so people could see the show that he liked so much as well had the actual figure of it (sort of like certain animes like example Dai-Guard, when one of the coworkers had a figure of the main robot itself and he was playing with him XD). But at last it will never come to be since the creator died on a terrible accident so the Robot Kantam OVA or movie will never come to be but at least the actual figure that Shin Chan had in the show is gonna be made. Is more of a bittersweet thing i would say, my sister used to watch the show and she is thinking of getting the Robot Kantam, but it will depend of the price and such.
I guess in Japan people are a bit tired of seen the same thing over and over again and want to see...well something different been made for a change, just to refresh the interest i guess.

Yeah, I understand the GFG is not as popular now as the GGG and GGGG. But there is no question that back when its figures were being produced, and the other two were not (in so many different lines), the GFG was the interesting one. But like I said, the Japanese customers these days rather have Hello Kitty and silly characters made rather than the cool ones of years back. More power to them, and more money in my bank account I say! }D

Actually you can still find figures of GFG in reasonable prices and quite a lot in comparison to the GGG or GGGG if there is some in use, new but a bit overprice or is no where to be found, perhaps because as you said, there so many figure variation of GFG that are still out there that people don't see it necessary to have an SRC GFG because the market is saturated of him and people are not interest about it. You have that and the problem with GFG is that since he was considered as more of a niche than an actual thing before the true event which is GGGG that i guess i see where he gets hurt, and when been in question in comparison to the franchises of Hello Kitty, Disney characters(or mecha in this case)in Japan and the ShinChan's Robot Kantam and the General Franky he gets over shadow pretty easily. I mean Hello Kitty or Disney alone can overshadow all the brave series combine and it doesn't help that the One Piece character Franky is extremely popular (or the show itself been more popular than any of the braves).
i think it was more of a "go with the flow" thing while the market is at its best. Im crossing fingers for the SRC GGGG to succeed if he does they might do the 2 female robots plus GFG. However im not sure if repli GGG will be made, people might feel a bit cheat out of it.

To be frank , I rarely preorder an item but I did pre order the cm brave gokin grendizer without even thinking twice about it ! Because after their successful jeeg , jeeg big shooter, jeeg option parts , tekkaman, gordian I didn't think they will screw up any new release! Especially they won't screw up a release that every one was looking for ! A grendizer!!
And I still can't believe they actually screwd it! What the heck really happened? I am very interested to hear the story behind it!

i still pray to the choogokin gods for this. I do not actually care if it transforms. The Yamato one made me so angry. Despise that figure. I want a great, solid, and articulated Escaflowne please!. Sentinel? They would do the cape right

Possibly Jumbo SRC King J Der: If I remember correctly, Bandai did release this as a kit on April of last year as a Wonderfestival exclusive. Original price, 100,000 JPY.

I really do not think it is possible. Not after the Yamato one. Maybe, maybe it is. One of the major problems with the Yamato one was the cape. It was SO HEAVY that it just pulled everything down. If it was done with a fabric cape, kinda like the one for Sentinel Black Getter or a Hot Toys, then we might be in better business. I think I would want most the diecast in its lower half anyways. For support. I really do not care about the transformation. It is really NOT possible to have a perfect transformation anyways. What are you going to do with the wings? There is a WHOLE LOT of anime magic going on here on this guy. Escaflowne is one of my all time favorite mecha. However, it is his Guymelef form I love.

yes i'd rather have a high quality stable & articulated chogokin escaflowne than floppy one like yamato's. but if they're making it transformable it should be BIG so no sacrifices to be make.
