I was reading some of the posts over in the "crappiest SOC" thread about ebay prices and the Nanbara base. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell by serial numbers or store gossip how many of each SOC Bandai produces?
If the 30 biggest stores purchase 100 of each (3000) and then 100 stores purchase 5 of each (500) something like 3500 per production run? How about the Nanbara base? Are there something like 1000 (more? less?) of them out there?

Here's an example.
GX-31 Voltes V - 3 million units
GX-34 Gunbuster - 20 units

It depends Web Exclusive stuff is made to order, regular production stuff is usually based on pre-orders plus say 10% for re-orders. But exact numbers are hard to say, these are mass produced items but not on the same scale as say Transformers and stuff.

I think I remember something from years ago, back when the SOC line was in the Gx-teens numbers and we had a discussion about this in a forum (I think it was Robotjapan or was it Toyboxdx?) but I seem to recall the numbers being somewhere in the 7000-12,000 units made? This isn't official though, just something speculating folks seemed to agree on in terms of production numbers for the SOC line.
