As I stated earlier: I could be wrong in some of these aspects. But again, I'm just looking at it from a radical view. Political Correctness is not my best asset. I trusted folks would somehow understand where I was coming from, but I should have been more specific and less blunt. About the girlie mud wrestler thing: I was referring to the wealthy American Corporations... the ones who are loaded with stocks and backed by corporate banks. I was not referring to the middle-class local family-owned businesses. I have more respect for the guy who built his own business with his own Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and he Remembers where he started from. I'll just leave it at that, with an apology. But as one who is also a hard working American, I've been offended by worse things in Life. I continue onward. zozo-mag Not all big corporations are evil, that is a very comic book type view.Japan is seen as a very honorable nation, and America is the big bad guy.I used to think along those media blasting lines,internet/movie propaganda but in the end its all just hype and exaggeration. There is good and bad in everything. Japan follows a very Buddhist type system which reflects in their business,as that system seems to work for them just as we were much better off in the day where God was important to our nation, and following a Christian system things were better,in my view anyhow. But thats for another forum. I have a feeling the guys making this are watching this forum and taking notes. All we ave seen so far are computer renderings so they definetely have time to make changes especially in the paint department. Personally I don't care about the anike correctness of the paint. It would be cool if they offered a battle worn version and an anime correct version. I am really excited for this guy I may actually buy an extra extra extra one to customize. There was on for sale like two yrs ago on ebay that was battle scarred and looked so awesome I would have bought it if it wasn't so expensive

Rather than hide in the shadows, Mad Toys should just come out and ask for inputs. We're more than willing to give our 2 cents. I just saw the preorder bonus for 2 beast swords. That's so tempting but I'm not falling for that ploy again (e.g. MP VV die cast sword). Isn't the Y21,800 price similar to MP VV price too?

I think that the only reason Mad Toys is hidding in the shadows is because they might be affraid of being sued by WEP/Classic Media. Just look back at the drama we all experienced with MP's VV when someone came out in the open showing the prototype.

The main reason for the drama was because of he that shall not be named taking our money and the long info droughts. Madtoys just need to take their time and stay under they Radar til their ready to ship him out. That was the main problem with VV.

But you have to admit that if such video with the proto and exclusive claims from that particular guy did not come out so soon, WEP/Classic Media would have not stepped in so early to cause delays and lack of updates.

I'm definitely with the others on this one. I'll only purchase it after it has been released and have seen in-hand reviews.

Ok , I guess we all suffered from the vv drama !
But look at this from another angle, if this is a new company then they will need the cash for their project to get to the production !
Or they might need to have an istimate idea of how many units should they release based on the pre orders!
If we all decided not to pre order then the project simply might get cancelled! Especially if this is a new small company I doubt that they will go with this project to production with no pre orders!

And that is what it is called a catch 22. Anyway, I think that they might gotten enough pre-order to guarantee a first run.

If they are smart, produce a good product. That is the only way to run business for a long run.

I thought the main problem with VV was that it was poorly designed, shoddily painted... and they took your money and didn't deliver.
10 foot pole for me.

So, I'm sure it was covered in this thread already (and so, I apologize for asking once more): Does anyone have any insight as to why Bandai has been hesitant to release anything Voltron-related? Is there some licensing problem? And if yes, how bad can it be? The Harmony Gold thing with Robotech never stopped Yamato/Bandai/etc. from releasing Macross stuff and so, what is the hold-up with the Golion/Voltron license?

WEP own the Voltron IP (including both GoLion and Dairugger XV) worldwide. So if Bandai wants to produce a Voltron, it has to get a license from WEP. We do not what is going on, but as of last year Bandai was in discussions to get a license, but long and behold Toynami got the license instead.
As for Harmony Gold, they Own the IP for Robotech, Macross, Mospeada, etc in the US. Big West still owns the rights in Japan (and I believe the rest of the world), therefore Japanese toy manufactures can still develop those toy for the Japanese market.
