Aight. Fess up. Which of you guys is gonna pony up the $1K for this non-transforming puppy? Given my gokin-obsession, I won't lie, I would...but, my wife would eunuch and/or murder me.

Nah, I have other items that are higher priority than these. If they go on sale, I might think about it.

whats the point of buying a non-transforming....pricey figure (not even a toy) Because it is a center piece that will be the attention getter of your collection, or man-cave, where you can have it displayed in certain stoic poses, and have some panels removed to show the robot's inner workings. A conversation piece for both fans and non-fans. The SOC DX Mazinger-Z, which the Ultimetal line is based of, is not a toy either, and a lot of us bought it for similar reasons.

Well said CFF. I wonder how many of us even transformer our figures more than once. I suspect the number is very low

Well, for something that doesn't even transform, fewture could've made it more faithful to how Megatron looks in the cartoons. At least DX Mazinger looks the part.

IMO...they should have just called it Megatron.....

Another angle... That face! Ugh...it's rather squished and ugly. It looks like he's pouting and being whiny instead of menacing. And there is just too much unneeded detailing everywhere. It should be smooth and flat like in every other rendition of Megatron. Let the detailing come out when you remove the panels. This just looks disappointing.

The same goes with these Ultimetal figures; they are not toys.

Nice reference I'd say that's more of a "Oooops, I just sharted" face.

Did anyone on RJ pull the trigger on the Ultimetal Optimus Prime? $900 - $1000 is really stupid pricing in my opinion. When is Megs due? Optimus is due in May

Also, I noticed that Megs is UM-03 and Optimus Prime is UM-01. What would be UM-02?
