Saw a monstructor by fansproject. No pics allowed but they finally resolved their gestalt bicep issue of visible legs. The maketoy defensor is maybe one of their bests but the tfc version is awful combined.

So much news this year... I just checked your instagram.com/noritoyMaketoys defensor looks terrific... Hope to discover Monstructor soon. I hope to come next year, but only if I have a valuable project to showcase. This year I only have some with MMC on progress, but it's only packaging. Need to re-work on the forgotten projects How was the mood of Tfcon ? A con like any others or special ? (conferences and meetings, prototypes showcases...)

I'll be adding more pics today. It looks like tfw has most of the images as well provided by tfcon. If you scroll down past my tf con pics you can see what I was planning on bringing to the custom contest. I decided to wait and make it something good instead of something rushed. I might also bring it to the con next year as a resin kit for the kt optimus bust.
The con was good but different from the few cons I had been to. Comic con is more like a show with tons of cosplay and people trying to get your attention. This is low key. Almost like a business conference and most of the patrons seem to be your average joe. Seems to be an older crowd too. Past the main entrance there is a corridor with 4 small rooms on each side. Art, contest/ prototype one for panels but I am not sure the 4th was used for anything. It might had been the celebrity autograph room. The panel room was the largest of them all. At the end of the hallway there is the huge dealer room. It is obvious the reason people come is to buy. Most of the stuff is about online retail prices. Some is jacked up, especially previous con exclusives. Bot com scorponok was over $500. One place sells nib g1 figures in the thousands. Not sure what they go for. Some places will compete prices but it is usually what you see is what you get. Vendors there were captured prey, tfsource etc. tfsource is trying to apply points to your purchase. The ages three and up guys were there for MMC and fansproject/ maketoys. There was prototype stuff there as well as the MMC predaking designer. Supposedly Sunday the convention is an 80s toy convention and. The dealer room changes up.
I only went to the third party panel and almost didn't get in. I got in line about 20 min before it started and was 4th in line. After the guest panel ended half the room cleared out. I thought we would go in but they start splitting the lines. Weekend pass and VIP get seating preference. The line behind me was huge and went out and the line of weekend pass people was even bigger. It looked full then they said they had a few seats. Maybe one or two people behind me got in. Luckily the one seat they had for me was in the very front row. So I had a great view. It was all casual and fun. They put out the rest of the prototypes after the reveal. They locked the doors and made everyone put their cams up when fps new prototype was to be shown. Largely because there was a lot of work to be done to it. It could not even stand on it's own but it looked great. I think the maketoy defensor was better though. I did learn some and meet a few people there. I mostly got toys though and spent time in the dealer room. I would suggest if you go get a weekend pass or VIP just so your sure you can see everything you want to see. I typed this all on my phone after waking up so excuse the grammar.

I got the exclusive, but I think I might like the deco of the mass release one better. I have not opened it yet, but I may if I decide to keep it. I never even saw this figure before tfcon. tfsource.com/toyworld/tw-h04-Infinitor/

Yeah, nobody saw it. It really came out of nowhere.
I saw the mini Grand Maxes at the show, got a chance to fiddle with some folks'. He's really neat - nice and solid and with a lot of added articulation while retaining the exact same basic design and detail cues as the original toy (even down to his little groin-crank which doesn't actually function on the Toy World version). I didn't buy one there but I immediately pre-ordered the Fort Max version (with added paint details) this morning.
I don't have space for a full sized max and I had been juggling the notion of getting a kabaya Fort Max kit for a while, but this trumps that in just about every way.

Shame we could not had met up there. I did spend most of my time in the dealer room though. I was in the front at the 3rd party panel.

I was barely at the con, I didn't even buy a pass - I was mostly hanging out with friends who were in the videogame charity marathon room. I did sneak (shhhh!) into the dealer room briefly; it was impressively dense and attendance seemed good, and it was neat to see some of the upcoming and brand new third party stuff up close and in person.

Here is the Grant figure. It seems well built and strong materials. The hip and shoulder ratchets are extremely tight. He came with stickers but I have not applied them yet as I am unsure if I am going to keep this one and try and get the main release instead. My one gripe is legs could had been more poseable. The rathet in the hips is too large. If you see my pic that is one click for each leg. I also wish the foot could go the other direction too. Even though there is plenty of articulation both of those things limit the actual poses you can do.

Looks like the exclusives are making their way to ebay. Someone in HK is selling Grant at a good price. I assume its the rest of the global stock. From what I read US was 180 and some say maybe 120 left over for global.
