50% of my CM Grendizer is great the other 50% is horrible, I can see paint strokes and fingerprints everywhere plus to mention broken parts. What a shame.

Saying CMs Grendizer is garbage quality makes no sense at all!! Show me where I stated that CM'S Grendizer is garbage. I do happen to own a CM'S Grendizer. The scuplt is gorgeous, and although QC is decent on my sample, I do recall the terrible QC issues that fellow members had when they got their copies. So you might want to dig that all thread and re-read it because paint issues were the least of that figure's problems. I also happen to own CM'S Jeeg, which to this day I still claim it to be the best version of jeeg avsilable. Followed by Gakeen and Gordian. Oh, and if you want to know I also happen to own Galiant (both metallic & anime versions),Gyakuten,Sankan oh,Goshogun and Baldios. Among GGG version 2, Mospeada, and other Brave Yusha robots. The company was hurting due to lack of revenue, so deal with it. this is what u said I was under teh impression u meant CMs and Grendizer since that is what we are talking about here no?? CFF said:Rant or not this makes no sense at all! So are you implying that just because this is an expensive hobby, we should accept garbage quality from companies that make obscure toys? Screw that! Also why does discussing CMs and why they are good make everyone so ANGRY!! I cant figure it out?Did you guys design the SOCs? so why defend them in such an angry way!! I own all the CMs and SOC classic robots, maybe this is why I can look at this objectively,It seems like if collectors only own SOC they will defend them,I bet if peopleonly owned CMs they would defend them to teh death and not SOC.I cant figure out why it is that when someone owns something ITS automatically the best. CFF what do you mean "Deal with it" as if I cant handle teh fact CMs is dead? Im just saying there was alot of complaining and b*tching where it wasnt warranted this HELPED teh downfall of CMs,sure i understand serious issues, but everyone jumped on the bandwagon when they just had tiny flaws,I dont just belong to this forum,I see it everywhere on other forums, its annoying. Also i wasnt calling anyone in particular a moron,Kaus was personal to me I wasnt towards anyone.my point was broaden your mind, and get away from the herd its like that with everything, alot of these comments come from people who JUST read reviews and dont actually own any of the toys!!!! THAT is moronic thinking!Surely you can agree there,do you just go by reviews? Also cant we all have opinions?Do I have to conform and say SOC is the best or everyone flips out??Isnt that alot like HLPro mindset? You hate that mindset CFF yourself. Ill end this by saying YES SOC are the best in quality overall, but they are also terrible at choosing Super Robots to put out,and at putting teh SAME character out over and over,do you know how many Mazingers Bandai has put out???thats fine I love them all,but put something different out for a change!CMs and ET are GREAt at putting out lesser SRs,doesnt it make you mad ther is no SOC Diapolon?? My arguement stems from this... The best collections to me are those with all Super Robots from all companies, not just one company.I love Super Robots, not teh company that puts them out,so i want them all,and sure teh better quality is great, but no one company will put out everything! So give others a chance! Look at Sentinel,if they didnt put out Getters and Dancougar no one would buy there toys even if quality was awesome!!! Its about the characters in the end.I bought their Gorg its great, but not many know that ,and its not the price cuz everone bought DX Mazinger! all Im saying is take chances.

Chances don't guarantee profit. You can be upset that there's no SOC Dai Apolon or SOC *insert super obscure robot here* and that's perfectly fine. But even you have to see that at the end of the day that Bandai is a business, and a business' goal every day is to be richer than it was the previous day. If every toy collector out there was you then i'm sure Bandai wouldn't hesitate to make more obscure figures - but not every collector is you. You don't represent the majority of toy collectors Baron, despite you clearly wishing you were. I brought up Diapolon because of a point I was making to CFF. Ofcourse I wish everyone thought like me and I represented the majority, who doesnt?? then wed have more diverse SRs,do you wish no one thought like you so you can buy things you dont want because that is whats popular?Thats silly, Andit all sounds good, defending bandai, explaining why businesses sell things,do you think im a dope and dont knwo why they do things like they do? All i am doing is defending a company i like, and trying to open minds to other toys besides SOC and everyobne attacks me?Very strange indeed.maybe i said a few things that were brash, but im trying to bring my point across. And you point on businesses getting richer?not every business holds money as the highest esteem, other reasons decide what is made, why did CMs,ET and HLpro etc etc make obscure characters?Because owners of companies like that are often collectors. You can make money buy charging more for obscure stuff because teh few who want it will pay as opposed to lowering prices on a famous character.. Im not putting anyone down here, just stating Cms made good toys, why is it when someone says something against the mainstream they get attacked..its not that I dont like Bandia I love Bandai but they are not the only company that made good stuff.Everyone needs to chill,I apologize if in anyway I m sounding aloof, just because you dont like it doesnt make it bad, just like me liking both companies doesnt make one better. I know in in the minority,I can take it.

Ofcourse I wish everyone thought like me and I represented teh majority, who doesnt?? You just posted this: "my point was broaden your mind, and get away from the herd " So you want everyone stop following the majority, only to conform to YOUR majority? That's not how it works. You can't tell people to stop following Bandai as the be-all-end-all toy company, only to go and proclaim that anyone who doesn't think and collect toys like you is doing it wrong. First why would you want to follow anyone?follow you!!! secondly you are twisting my words,im getting upset..WHEN DID I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT STOP FOLLOWING BANDAI HAVE YOU SEEN MY COLLECTION!!! ? the herd doesnt mean bandai!!!!!! it means bandai ONLY thinking!IM SAYING by broadening your mind try other gokins, why is that so bad??? I BUY BANDAI AND LOVE BANDAI,your clearly not reading my posts as ive written them, stop trying to make me look bad!Im done here, your just being ignorant now seriously.you dont even own anything but bandai how can you even form an opinion here.

Look I think i know a bit about Gokins,I have every Classic super Robot Gokin available whos anime aired between 72-84 represented in my collection,2 of every SOC or more for each of those,2 of each CMs of those basically. My experience is coming from someone who owns thetoys, not from CDX reviews or someone on Youtube ok?Im not biased toward any company.Yes for the most part Bandai puts the best stuff out,BUT CMS also has put great stuff out too.Im CLEARLY saying not just Bandaio makes good toys, why is that a sin to say, Do you own any CMs toys Taurus Oxford?? Wait a minute....I remember I made a nice comment on your collection recently How can you even have an opinion you own ALL BANDAI !!and one sentinel.NOTHING wrong with having a small collection or a beginning collector we all were, but dont be so adamant on something you have no experience with. This is JUST what i mean. You never held a CMs toy,so how can you even debate this?

CFF said:Rant or not this makes no sense at all! So are you implying that just because this is an expensive hobby, we should accept garbage quality from companies that make obscure toys? Screw that! Well my friend you misread my statement. I did not call Grendizer garbage, and you proved it. I made a blanket statement that no one should take crappy quality products because these products are of obscure super robots. Also why does discussing CMs and why they are good make everyone so ANGRY!! I cant figure it out?Did you guys design the SOCs? so why defend them in such an angry way!! Because you sounded bitter and angry. And you made it sound that CM's demised was based on customers returning Grendizer due to bad paint apps. Which is not true. Let's not forget that CM's had a diversified portfolio, and those other products also failed to generate revenue. But I agree with you that Bandai is not the only company in town, and I do support new companies that come up with new products specially robots that we want. That is the risk that I take, but if these companies do not expectations, I am done with them. At the end of the day, I will only support a product with my wallet.

I also support the product (and company that makes it) with my wallet. And yes, I expect the best possible of a product, as a mass produced product can be. CM's truly pissed me off with the Grendizer. If CM's did not have the financial means to make Grendizer - OF ALL CHARACTERS - as great as they made the Kotetsu Jeeg, then they should've taken non-refundable deposits for pre-orders and still make a Grendizer that was every bit as good as the Jeeg. HLPro (archaic engineering figures), Aoshima (Shin Mazinger's Ankoku Daishogun anyone?), Bandai (floppy joints, paint scratches), Sentinel (fragile joints)... no company puts out a perfect mass produced figure. I wouldn't mind if they were no more that $50 bucks tops, but come on! These things are not cheap, and companies should put a little more attention to detail in the manufacturing and packaging processes. I also agree with Baron that if you don't own or have personally handled the figure, you should not blindly believe everything you see others post. Reviews are great, but it is a person's review on the item they have in hand. You might get the same item and have a 100% different opinion about it. For example, I hate firing gimmicks on figures, but love LED eyes and articulated hands. I get a figure with those, and it will score high to me. To others, those features suck, but they would love firing fists and missiles. So, it would be the same figure, owned by two different people and it would score completely different depending on its features. But they must have the figure in hand... that is the important thing. Anyway, what I want from Aoshima is a Shin Getter 3. Enough said! }D

Reviews are great, but it is a person's review on the item they have in hand. While I know it's impossible to make a product run where every single specimen is 100% perfect, I also think that when several high-profile reviewers find the same flaw in the same figure, the odds for that happening should not be that high.

Well, here's an example that goes against all reviews: My first CM's Grendizer had pretty loose hip joints, non-working Spacer left door, and one finger on the articulated hand was "paint-glued"in place. But the paint was flawless all around. The second CM's Grendizer I got, (Toyshunter version), was perfect - minus the Spacer doors being tight as hell. Most of the problems on the CM's Grendizer were found in the limited Toyshunter version - mainly bad paint in the thighs or horns. But mine had zero defects. Same with the Mattel 24 inch Lion Voltron: Folks b*tch about it, but mine is perfect, and I'm almost sure some other folks also have pretty much perfect versions as well. So, just because a person that does reviews says the figure is good or bad, it doesn't necessarily make it so. As a matter of fact, reviewers should just state that THEIR figure is good or bad, and stay away from making a general statement. That way everybody is happy. }D

We all should understand when any reviwer reviews any product it is only their opionion on one particular copy they got. and it is his mostly his opionion and not necessarily 100 percent fact across the board on every copy and every issue of the product. thats given. we all should know its an opinion, nothing more nothing less.
I take whatever from it and it helps me make a purchaseing decision. i view as many review as possible especially if its a big ticket figure or a figure im not too sure about. if many reviews point the product south, then i wont buy it. And if i review the product badly, i will at the very least give a warning.
i like fair harsh call out reviews. I usually dont enjoy reviews that overtly optimistic or that candy coats an obvious qc issues or others what i would consider a con. Video reviews are great in this sense because even if the reviewer gushes over how great the figure is, i can plainly see the copy he's reviewing has serious issues even of the reviewer says its no big deal.
