If you are responding to the post directly above yours, then please don't quote. You are just cluttering the board. Thank you. Excuse me bro, and with all respect what is it with the No Quotes campaign lately ? sometimes a member post before you can post to the member you want to respond to, also how the member will know that i replied back to him ? you cant always count on luck because some members visit a thread just ones and that's it since we don't have a mention feature in the forum we are going to quite because there is no other way around it I have to agree with S_Gokin here. I think we are getting a bit too paranoid with the quotations. Clearly if the post is full of pictures, one should exercise restraint and not quote it unnecessarily as this will make the thread hard to read. Another way is to quote but edit the original post such that you only leave the relevant portion you want to address. I think Baron made this suggestion earlier. Peace.

How about just doing this: @ KingboyD: Agree with you 100%. Quotes are getting way out of hand lately, taking entire pages for no reason. Now if KingboyD ever comes back to visit the thread again, he will see my reply.
But if he never returns to the thread, then it really will not matter how many quotes of his posts I make.

I guess people don't know how to tag.
Besides like TheMazingerZ said, if the person never logs back into the forums, this person will never know that he/she was quoted or tagged.

instead of being pretentious with "I guess people don't know how to tag" how about instructions on how to tag. that's what makes a forum better. not condescension.
can someone show us how to tag?

Besides like TheMazingerZ said, if the person never logs back into the forums, this person will never know that he/she was quoted or tagged. as far as i know nothing works no tags no mentions just the quote & why a member will never log back to the forum ? you can just adjust the notifications in your profile, so when some one quote you will get a notification by email TheMazingerZ <----- I was just trying to see if this will do the tag effect. I mentioned it a few times recently because it is getting out of hand. When there are only a handful of actual posts on a page, then something needs to change. With the oversized signatures and redundant quotes, we are eating up this board. There is a limited amount of space, and Ed (admin1) pays for volume. We had discussions in the past about whether to drop the old content or pay to increase capacity. No one here is contributing $ to keep this board up. He is doing it from the kindness of his heart. If we want this board to continue to live on, we need to be aware of this and considerate.
Furthermore, I have heard collectors from other boards mock those here for these same things. And to an extent, I agree. When you have to read through several pages just to get to the point, then that is a problem.
Now you know the backstory. If you choose to ignore me, so be it. I have asked nicely and have explained my reasoning. Use this info as you will.
EDIT:
And if you want to quote, you don't have to quote the entire post. Edit it to just a sentence or two. There are always ways to handle this differently and still achieve your goal. I am not saying don't quote at all. Just be mindful of the flow of the board and the memory usage. Thank you.

i did not see a donation page here. did i miss it? it's not fair for just one person to pay for all the space other people waste. i suggest to the administrators to go around deleting all the wasteful posts and duplicated pictures.

jayliveFrom the Pro Boards help section: "when someone tags you - If someone has tagged you in a post (using @username), you will receive a notification along with a link to the post that you were tagged in." Even TheMazingerZ showed it in his previous post.

jayliveYes, it did. BTW what is up with the LOL at the end of your question? What are you trying to pull? These are the kind of attitudes that make us senior members look down on new members. So if you want me to be cordial and respectful to you and other new members, I will kindly ask you to do the same. On that note, I sent a PM to Admin1 asking for him to repost the etiquette & guidelines for this forum. I am getting sick and tired of the drama, and attitude towards each other as of late. And I believe that it is about time that all of us members start behaving accordingly. I apologize for contributing on the derailment of this thread. So please let us all go back on topic.

@cff
why are you so touchy? I genuinely did not know about this functionality and I was happy to see it, actually. I asked for a tutorial, and you gave it. where's the problem here? I even threw you a "thumbs up" for good measure. don't take things so seriously.
also spare us the lecture... you're not a mod/admin and it's annoying to have members bossing people around like your post count/amount of stars affords you the leverage to talk down to people.
this is a board about TOYS for gods sake. it's supposed to be fun. some people need to take a deep breath and relax.

jayliveI am touchy because it is not the first time that you give us this attitude. You even gave an attitude on a reply that you gave me last week on another thread. You are absolutely correct that I am not an admin/mod, but we all have a duty to keep this forum civilized. Re-read my previous post, and see why I gave you the "lecture." Anyway, I am done with you. So congratulations, you are number 4 of my blocked list.

@cff
I welcome the block. so I don't get any more responses from childish touchy whiners like you.
clearly you misinterpreted a simple lol as attitude, so I'm sure you made another mistake about whatever post from last week you're referring to
... and finally, Wtf at "us" who is US? ... is this CFF a collective of people using one username?

this is a perfect example of wasted space. why doesn't any of the administrators delete postings like these?

I'm glad members who really cant get along can block eachother. i highly recommend it. but people do have bad days so do give eachother many many benefit of doubts before that. because once you block him, i dont know how to unblock....
please do use block button, it really helps the nerves and do relieve unwarrented stress.

Kaizer, perhaps I should. But I don't want to police every little argument. The admins do discuss all these tiffs and watch people who routinely argue and incite others. We are not parents, and hopefully the members here can act appropriately and respectfully towards each other. As I'm sure everyone knows, it is easy to misinterpret others when writing on forums. Meanings and intentions certainly do get lost. I am not trying to demean anyone or talk like I am above others, though it sounds like that (its hard to get my point across without saying these things). I am just trying to say that we admins are not going to monitor every conversation on this forum, and we generally want people to speak freely and not have their posts edited, within reason. Thanks for understanding.

well since we are not in topic any more guys there is just a few of us, i know there is alot of members but its just the same few members who participate in every thread if we are going to block each other then we are posting for visitors im just saying some of us should learn how to accept other members opinions even if it don't make any sense or its different than our opinions, specially if they are new here because that doesn't necessarily mean they are noobs or stupid or just start collecting just saying
